Last week it was time to go to the local nursing home I play at. I sported my new Walmart clearance shirt and greatly enjoy the fact they had the a.c. on for me!! I got to meet a nurse I didn't know and an activities assistant and chat with them. I also met my new favorite resident. She was feisty and I LOVED her!!  On Thursday am I made my way over to the 4-H fair to get my annual lemon shake up and pulled pork bbq sandwich and to visit some students with animals. Sadly, the goat student was not there, but I got to visit another student and meet her horse! And take a selfie, which I thought was hilarious.  My business was one of the sponsors for the horse show so I got to see our name and website on the board outside the stables!!  At this point I wished I had named my company something earlier up in the alphabet. I was basically sitting on the ground...  Friday after all the piano playing and fair walking it was a perfectly timed last m...

Last week started off with cold temps again. It was a bit of a rude awakening since Thursday of the prior week had me in shorts and sandals. Sigh. Back to boots and leggings...  One of my students had a birthday and she brought a new "friend" with her to piano lessons. I loved where she placed him! It was rather hilarious to look up there and see a stuffed animal peeking out between her music.  HA!  Wednesday I wore my #pearlsforbarbara to honor the life of our former First Lady.  And I also snacked on the most DELICIOUS sugar cookie from Mary Lou's! If you're from around here you know that Mary Lou's has seriously good doughnuts. but I had no idea they had cookies and other items! Until a student told me! I thought he had the name of the shop wrong. HA! Alas he was correct on the name and also correct on their deliciousness. I regretted only buying two.  Thursday was an exciting mail day. Yes, that is a lazy neck cell phone holder, ...
So every month I try to link up with Mix and Match Mama for the What's Up Wednesday. It's done the last Weds of every month. For some reason this month she did it a week earlier but here I am on the last Weds ready to go!! So let's do this!! What I'm Eating this week: Well Tuesday night was my Studio's Recital and it's a tradition to stop at Buck Creek Pizza and eat their AMAZING cheese pizza on the way home. Needless to say, I'm still eating it :) What I'm reminiscing about: I have been getting a little misty eyed seeing how much my students have grown, physically and in their piano skills, since last year's recital. They are growing up right before my eyes! and I'm not too sure how I feel about that! ha! What I'm loving: I'm loving the fact that Thanksgiving is over and it's officially The Christmas Season which means no one can say anything about my tree and decorations being up. I'm also loving that it'...

Drab to Fab Makeover-New Chair

In the past 6 months or so, I have been slowly working on re doing my living room. It started with getting rid of my huge entertainment center, and painting my new free at the curb, sofa table. (If I was a good blogger I'd link to that post but I'm not, so you can just search!) The next step was getting rid of my love seat and replacing it with a comfy chair to sit and read in. Around Labor Day weekend I saw this chair posted on craigslist, FOR FREE!!!!! Free is basically my favorite word, next to chocolate, and pizza. So I jumped on it! Even though the chair had broken leather in places I could see it's potential! So I went and met a lady and picked up this chair on the way home to my parents for the weekend. My mom LOVES it when I bring home surprise furniture. (Note the Sarcasm) While I was home, my Mom told me she had some fabric for recovering furniture she was going to get rid of. She showed it to me and I thought it was perfectly ...

Tales from the Piano Bench

For months now my bff has been telling me that I should keep track of all  the funny things that happen to me while I'm teaching. Tonight's hilarious little student sealed the deal! So without further adiue my new series-Tales from the Piano Bench! I seriously have the best Piano Students! I was cranky this evening (forgot to have caffeine today!) and little E showed up, 5 years old and full of spunk. She is just hilarious! We were playing the Piano Board game and one of her pieces was down very low in the Bass clef, which she thinks sounds creepy and scary, so I had told her that if she played the low notes loud I might have nightm ares and have to sleep with my stuffed doggie. So she moves her piece and hits another low bass note much louder than she intended, sweet little girl jumps, and looks apologetically up at the ceiling and whispers, "sorry doggie, I didn't mean to wake you up!" I kind of feel like I should be paying her parents for the joy of s...
