Unknown Threat by Lynn H. Blackburn

Unknown Threat is the first book in Lynn H. Blackburn's new Defend and Protect Series. This series focuses on the men and women of the Secret Service and I found it FASCINATING!! I'm a big fan of law enforcement and crime books, and getting to see the innerworkings of things I will never be a part of. So getting to learn a ton about the secret service and how they operate, and even just how their careers work was beyond interesting to me.  Ms. Blackburn always does a phenomenal job of mixing intrigue, murder, danger with romance and God's truth. I highly enjoy the fact that she can write an awesome Christian Romance, that gives you all the feels, but still keeps it clean and Godly and Christ honoring.  She writes flawed individuals who are trying to do their best in following God. She's not afraid to write about the hard stuff or the fact that, GASP, Christians are not perfect! Her books are always spiritually sound and leave you better than before you read the boo...

8/52 My Birthday Week!!!

Once again it's a backwards week!  My birthday was beautiful warm weather which was much needed after the snow and cold! The awesome Piano notebook Karen had made for me! On my way back to town I stopped at my friend Karen's house, as she said she had a present for me. We had a lovely, masked, socially distanced time of chatting which was SO good for my soul! And she gave me this adorable notebook!!! I love it!! And I love her! First selfie of 39!! My Mom is so cute! She humors me with the pictures.... MOST of the time. HA! Tried out M & M Ice Cream Cake from Walmart this year. (After food poisoning from Dairy Queen in 2019, I have no desire to ever eat there again) and it was really tasty! And a whole lot cheaper than Dairy Queen!! One Day! This was also my Grandma's Birthday. I miss her so much. I went to the cemetery that day to see her grave for the first time. Music from the Heart relocated for the second half of the week! On my way home!! It was in the high 40...

Started off the week with couch church, some im old but trying to hide it face cream, and coffee in my new birthday mug!! Weds i had my first pandemic massage at the ivy free massage clinic! And lookie who was there too?! K. MUSS!! I almost whispered to her, as she was in the slot next to me, but I got done before she did. It was so fun to see her and catch up! I was speechless at how beautiful this rose opened up! My Dad gave me this when I was home since I wasn't there for a valentines day, and he got one for Mom too, because he couldn't leave his sweetie out. So precious.  Monday i was excited to use my new notebook and super pumped that I could finally have the cover to my cart fitting! Mom shaved some of the corner off when I was home and now its perfect! Another one of my sweet students surprised me with coffee and a special mug for my birthday! Yall. I love coffee mugs.  And I really love what's in the mug!! Sunday afternoon a special delivery from Iowa arrived a...

Whats up my peeps?!?! Welcome to another weekly wrap up! This weeks theme is cold and snow. Sunday was in the negatives over night and barely got up into single digits during the day. Needless to say I barely left my house all week and seeing as next weeks forecast is the same, I'll be bundled up under my blanket. Despite it being crazy cold outside Sunday was an awesome day because we got to have a livestream of our actual church campus!!!!!! Its been way too long since I have heard our worship team. This was so good for my soul. Monday brought more lovely weather and the teens countdown to my birthday!! Tuesday my Mom came to town and surprised me by having my sign finished!! When we took it down and I painted my living room I wanted something else on the sign and asked her if she could write the lyrics to one of my favorite worship songs on it. It is SO special having this sign in her handwriting!!!!! Wednesday I was PUMPED to wear the new shirt I made!!! I mean, come on!!!!!!...

Well once again here we are backwards,  and I somehow forgot to take any pics after Weds. Whoops!  Here's a look at week 5 in reverse! Weds was a busy day, we were about to head Into some really cold weather, so I hurried to run some errands before teaching and get what I needed to stay home and not have to go outside until it warms up! My pony was really tall that day. Pics didn't quite capture the height of that bad boy. I decided to get an end table out of my shed (this was made for my parents for their wedding present!) And test out having it on the other side of my couch. So far I think I like it! I grabbed this lamp when I was out at DG.   That morning I ran to Aldi for some groceries right after they opened. And while I was waiting socially distanced for my turn at a shelf I saw these adorable music valentines day socks! I had to buy them! They are kinda large but oh so cute!! Tuesday was a first for me in the pandemic. I watched a livestream funeral. I...
