Weekend Recap!

Ok, well other than the sadness I had yesterday afternoon I managed to have a good weekend other than that.

Friday I learned that Zucchini makes me sick. And I learned it the hard way. I think it is the skin that my tummy doesn't like. So I spent Friday night curled up on my couch, reading my magazines and watching TLC. I have to say that I absolutely LOVE the new show, Making over America. I am a sucker for anything with fashion!!

I managed to hit bed early for a Friday night, midnight to be exact, and I think I had the best nights sleep I have had all year. Its been quite chilly here in Indiana, and was down in the 50's! So I slept with my bedroom windows wide open. oh it was GLORIOUS!!!!!! I slept in untill noon:) And then got up and putzed around.

I was quite happy that I was up the entire afternoon. My meds all make me pretty sleepy and by the weekend I am worn out. But this Saturday I stayed awake untill 5 watching DVR episodes of Will and Grace and Friends:) Good times!! I of course had my balcony door open for the breeze and I got to hear the leaves on the trees rustle. I think that is the best sound in the world, other than a child's laughter. It is just pure relaxation.

Sunday I was able to sleep in untill 9:30 and then I got up and got ready for work. We had our New Student Orientation today and it went really well! I was excited to recognize several of the students from STAR this summer so that was really neat!

On the way to work I stopped at Big Apple Bagels, as I do whenever I am up early on the weekend. I was sad, however, they were out of Swiss Melt, so I had a plain bagel. It was tasty though!!

Sunday afternoon was spent curled up on my couch with a good book.. Ahhhhhh I love afternoons like that!! And I LOVE this weather we are having!! Of course its going to get hotter later in the week but I will hold on to this cooler weather as long as I can! Its so beautiful!!

Monday is the first day of classes at Purdue and I confess, I am excited! :) I allready have my new outfit picked out and I am really excited to see our students come back! I can't wait to hear about their summers and internships and have our office be packed with people all day long. CAN"T WAIT!!!

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t...

9/52

So I'm doing my best to get these weekly wrap up's done on Monday each week. Today has been a DOOZY. It's 9 pm and I am just now sitting down to check email and such. So if this post isn't the most well written, you'll understand once you read next week's wrap up about today!  In happier news we started off last week with my BIIIIRRRTTHHHDAAAYYYYY!!! And nothing says your Birthday like watching One Tree Hill and eating a piece of ice cream cake with lunch. Spoiler alert, I had a piece of Ice Cream cake every single day last week.  The chalkboard was updated, but sadly none of my pictures with said chalkboard looked decent.  I rocked my Be-You-Tiful shirt and a new necklace my Mom had given me.  And then I had a little photo session in the piano room with my balloons. Because, it was my birthday. and I was alone. So why not!  This is pretty much me in a nutshell... :)  Normally, I try to get work done before students arrive...
