I will carry you

If you haven't allready you need to run, not walk to your nearest bookstore, and pick up Angie Smith's new book "I will carry you".

Yesterday it was free for download on barnes and noble's website (not sure if it still is) I dl'd it and proceeded to spend the next two hours sitting in the same spot reading the entire book.

It. was. incredible.

and beautiful.

and so many other words that I can't even get out.

I so appreciate Angie sharing her heart in this book and sharing what she went through when she lost her precious daughter, Audrey Caroline.

I have many friends who have lost children as well, and no one really talks about it. Its kind of hush hush and you want to help them to do something, say something, somehow understand what they're going through and just do something that lessens their pain, if only for just a minute. I really think that anyone who knows someone who has lost a child should read this book. I believe its in the last chapter, Angie shares how you can minister to someone who is in that horrible pain and how you can be there for them and REALLY helpful was what NOT to say and what is acceptable.

I really also enjoyed the paralell story that she had of Mary and Martha and their relationship with Jesus. Just coming off of doing a bible study about Mary and Martha this was really interesting to me and still fresh in my mind and heart. There were several things that she pointed out that I hadn't realized and when i read it, it was just so powerful. I am going to do a blog about that later. But for now just trust me when I say, you really REALLY NEED to read this book. It gives such a beautiful picture of Jesus love for us.

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t...

9/52

So I'm doing my best to get these weekly wrap up's done on Monday each week. Today has been a DOOZY. It's 9 pm and I am just now sitting down to check email and such. So if this post isn't the most well written, you'll understand once you read next week's wrap up about today!  In happier news we started off last week with my BIIIIRRRTTHHHDAAAYYYYY!!! And nothing says your Birthday like watching One Tree Hill and eating a piece of ice cream cake with lunch. Spoiler alert, I had a piece of Ice Cream cake every single day last week.  The chalkboard was updated, but sadly none of my pictures with said chalkboard looked decent.  I rocked my Be-You-Tiful shirt and a new necklace my Mom had given me.  And then I had a little photo session in the piano room with my balloons. Because, it was my birthday. and I was alone. So why not!  This is pretty much me in a nutshell... :)  Normally, I try to get work done before students arrive...
