April's Birthday Decorations!

Whats going on in 2144 today? A party for our Apes of course!!! (writing this the night before and PRAYING that my thingies floating in the door are still there Friday morning!)
Its our Apes birthday this weekend and OF COURSE you know I had to decorate it!! Getting the crepe paper and the balloons into the office without her knowing was like a covert act!!

Here is her desk! And yes the Birthday Butterfly is a deflated balloon, whom matched the other one standing tall but you see it was highly windy here today and wrestling 4 balloons that kept attacking me and getting the strings caught in my hair (PAINFUL!) was just too much for that poor butterfly, she sprung a leak! Not to be deterred I OF COURSE found another use for her!

Apes Chair and her poem I wrote for her with alittle help from Fishy!

Please note the exception bow I made *cough Jessica Berger* cough* I found soem froofy stuff in our crepe paper box and fashioned a bow out of it. And then I took a sparkly bow meant to be attached to a present, took the sticky paper off, fashioned a little ring around it with a paper clip and then hooked it to the ribbon bow. Stuck the whole thing on her chair with packing tape. I know, ingenious. I was rather proud of myself. I may or may not have done and song and dance. :)

Anyways here is her birthday poem! Can't wait to walk into work Friday and see her response!

Ode to Apes

She’s sweet like sugar,
But sometimes a bit of a booger,
She’s pretty awesome,
But thankfully not as lazy as a possum,
You know she’s really great,
She pretty much takes the cake.
She’s smart as a whip,
Good thing since she’s stuck with a dip!
This might be a little silly,
But we really love our Ape-a-Dilly!

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t...

9/52

So I'm doing my best to get these weekly wrap up's done on Monday each week. Today has been a DOOZY. It's 9 pm and I am just now sitting down to check email and such. So if this post isn't the most well written, you'll understand once you read next week's wrap up about today!  In happier news we started off last week with my BIIIIRRRTTHHHDAAAYYYYY!!! And nothing says your Birthday like watching One Tree Hill and eating a piece of ice cream cake with lunch. Spoiler alert, I had a piece of Ice Cream cake every single day last week.  The chalkboard was updated, but sadly none of my pictures with said chalkboard looked decent.  I rocked my Be-You-Tiful shirt and a new necklace my Mom had given me.  And then I had a little photo session in the piano room with my balloons. Because, it was my birthday. and I was alone. So why not!  This is pretty much me in a nutshell... :)  Normally, I try to get work done before students arrive...
