Book Review: An Inconvenient Beauty By Kristi Ann Hunter

This year Kristi Ann Hunter has become one of my very favorite authors. She writes Regency England Romances, that have comedy in them, and completely relatable characters despite being so far away from the time period!

This is the last book (SOB) of the Hawthorne Series, and unlike other Authors and Book Series you can jump in reading any book in this series and not be confused or wondering who is who and what is happening!

This book focuses on Griffin, who is the oldest brother of the Hawthorne clan. He is very by the book and has a plan for everything, very type A, methodical, list maker and carry-out-er. (Is that a word? I just made it one!) So of course being the in charge, planner that he is, it's only appropriate that he would approach love and finding a wife in the same manner.

As you can expect life, and love, don't exactly work that way. Although it takes Griffin a good long while to figure that out. Its humorous for the readers as he bumbles on his carefully planned journey, that completely falls to pieces.

I won't tell you about who he does fall in love with, despite his best tries, but suffice it to say that she has a story all her own, and is completely loveable as well.

I highly recommend this book, and all of Ms. Hunter's previous books. I am anxiously awaiting her next release!!!

Thanks to Bethany House for providing me with a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t...

So I'm doing my best to get these weekly wrap up's done on Monday each week. Today has been a DOOZY. It's 9 pm and I am just now sitting down to check email and such. So if this post isn't the most well written, you'll understand once you read next week's wrap up about today!  In happier news we started off last week with my BIIIIRRRTTHHHDAAAYYYYY!!! And nothing says your Birthday like watching One Tree Hill and eating a piece of ice cream cake with lunch. Spoiler alert, I had a piece of Ice Cream cake every single day last week.  The chalkboard was updated, but sadly none of my pictures with said chalkboard looked decent.  I rocked my Be-You-Tiful shirt and a new necklace my Mom had given me.  And then I had a little photo session in the piano room with my balloons. Because, it was my birthday. and I was alone. So why not!  This is pretty much me in a nutshell... :)  Normally, I try to get work done before students arrive...
