Book Review: The way of the brave by Susan May Warren

Today I am excited to talk about a recent book I received from Revell to read and review. All opinions are my own and I thank Revell for providing me with a free book in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions!

So the Way of the Brave is the first book the new "Global Search and Rescue" series by Warren.  I have been reading her books for years and I always amazed at how much technicality she writes in her books. This book focuses a lot on mountain climbing, and by mountain climbing I mean hard core mountain climbing that takes weeks and months. Her last series, which was the Montana Rescue Series had a myriad of different characters with extensive rescue training. One character was a snowboarder (Or skier, can't remember which) and she wrote about that in extensive detail. It boggles my mind how much research she must do to write these books because they are so detailed and technical. I always walk away learning things that I had no clue about after reading one of her books.

I really enjoyed this book that had a Military/CIA spin to it. I am a sucker for Romantic Suspense, and Warren does an amazing job at writing Christian Romantic Suspense. Her style of writing while detailed, also reads like a conversation I would have with my friends, or even inside my head when she writes about the characters thoughts. She always has humor in it, and weaves in life and pop culture effortlessly.

Once again Susan May Warren has hit it out of the ballpark and I am eagerly waiting book #2 in the Global Search and Rescue Series!!

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t...

So I'm doing my best to get these weekly wrap up's done on Monday each week. Today has been a DOOZY. It's 9 pm and I am just now sitting down to check email and such. So if this post isn't the most well written, you'll understand once you read next week's wrap up about today!  In happier news we started off last week with my BIIIIRRRTTHHHDAAAYYYYY!!! And nothing says your Birthday like watching One Tree Hill and eating a piece of ice cream cake with lunch. Spoiler alert, I had a piece of Ice Cream cake every single day last week.  The chalkboard was updated, but sadly none of my pictures with said chalkboard looked decent.  I rocked my Be-You-Tiful shirt and a new necklace my Mom had given me.  And then I had a little photo session in the piano room with my balloons. Because, it was my birthday. and I was alone. So why not!  This is pretty much me in a nutshell... :)  Normally, I try to get work done before students arrive...
