wwiw-Birthday Edition!

And here we are again for another week of wwiw-what i wore wednesday, hosted by the pleated poppy! I'm noticing as I take my pictures what I can improve on in my outfits. Slowly but surely! Here we have last Thursdays outfit. I got the skirt at Target the night before for 2.00!!!!!!!! I added a gold and green necklace, but I think it needs more color than that. The next time I wear it, i am going to pair my j crew turquoise bubble necklace, and hopefully a colored cardigan. Just have to find the perfect color first! But I think it's a so so outfit that has major cute potential!  Yes I am holding a small hammer. Sunday my parents came to church with me, and then we had a small birthday lunch and party at my house. I LOVED my outfit but didn't get great pics of it. I had super cute turquoise beaded earrings on that my Grams had given to me.  I had Mom take 2 quick pictures while my Dad was in the other room not paying attention. He HATES my c...

wwiw

It's time for this week's edition of wwiw (what i wore wednesday) hosted by The Pleated Poppy not tons of exciting outfits this week. Here we have last Thursdays outfit. It was pretty warm outside, so I felt like wearing a skirt and bare legs. I really love this bright pink skirt! Wore my new pink bow earrings from forever 21. they are sooo cute!!! Another shot. I struggled with pictures that day. And finding where to take pictures has been hard! I don't know how y'all do it! Do you have people take your picture?? Monday I finally found a half decent spot with lighting and somewhere to put my camera. Hello Spare room!! This day i met up with some friends at the Beauty Supply store and got 6, yes I said 6 cans of Big Sexy Hairspray. It was on a major sale so I stocked up!! I don't know what i'm supposed to be looking at but other bloggers do this pose so I tried it as well! :) I have to confess i changed my cardi right before i left. I d...

Auntie Cherwy and Snugglemuffin's Weekend

Last weekend I headed to Iowa to babysit this little cutie for part of the weekend! I was SO excited to get to spend time with my buddy! We had a great time, despite me having to change 3 stinky diapers in a 24 hour period. YUCK! I knew that one day we would get this self portrait thing down! and we did! He has now learned to say CHEESSEEE!! And apparently he has picked up on the fact that we never get a good picture the first time, because i would take a picture and he would say "try again?" hahah  When I arrived I took a picture of him with my phone to send to his Nana, and I told him we were sending it to Nana. Well he thought that meant she was on the phone so he started talking to her. I had to explain she wasn't and that we were going to Text Nana. So for the rest of the day (and the weekend) he kept going up to my phone and touching it saying "Benmen Text Nana??!"  Also everytime it went off with a text alert he would perk up like a dog wit...

WWIW

I am desperately trying to liven up my wardrobe a little bit and quit wearing the same thing over and over. I'm also trying to wear my jewelry more. I love jewelry and have some pretty things but I just always forget to put them on! So I decided I would join in on the WWIW and try to be a little bit more daring! This outfit is from last weds, I had lunch with Audie at Firehouse subs!  I'm trying to mix colors and patterns as well. Can you tell?  Here we have Monday's outfit. I'm still not sure if this "worked" or not, but at least I tried! Leggings with a short skirt, white top, jean jacket and my comfy boots. Looking back at this i should have put on a necklace! It was also super windy that day and I had to go out so I knew the hair had to go up. I look a little bald in the upper picture but i promise you it was cute in person! I got a mini bump and was so proud of myself! So here we have it! Be sure to stay tuned for future fashion di...

Gmabama.

Its been a really hard week around here. The word I would describe it as would be heart breaking. There were points when I found myself sitting on my couch staring off in space, just hurting, and so sad that I felt like I couldn't focus. My soul has literally ached. 5 Years ago my Grams had Ovarian Cancer. Stage 4. She beat it, which didn't surprise anyone that she knew, given her tenacious personality. They say with Ovarian cancer if it's going to return it will do it within two years, and will show up somewhere else. Two years came and went and she was still clear. She had her CA 125 Levels checked every 3 months, and the same with her Oncologist Visits. Last week she traveled to Iowa, (where her new oncologist is) and went in for what was supposed to be her last visit. After 5 years cancer free she was being discharged. However when they ran her CA 125 levels we couldn't deny that what we had feared was now a reality. The cancer is back. And has spre...

Tuesday Tidbits

Well the picture that I *REALLY* wanted to blog won't send from my phone, so stay tuned for my piece of crap 1994 phone to work so I can show you the most disturbing thing I've seen lately. This post is just a mish mash of not very exciting things, but I really wanted to blog more this year and here it's not even February and I'm failing miserably!  The above picture is my new shelf I scored at CVS of all places on an after Christmas sale. I decorated it with a picture frame my mom made of my initial, a small candle, and a sweet picture of my parents. It hangs right by the door so I have my keys there as well. And a seasonal snowman. I need to put my snowmen up and find something else to put out but I don't know what?  A few weeks ago I met up with Emboz and Madi for a Pink Weds Ladies who Lunch at Chilis. It was super duper good. Madi is such a mess. Love that kid and her mullet. Emboz and I shared this chocolate molten cake ice cream thingamajig an...

Not the Monday I'd planned.....

So it's been a GREAT Weekend and Monday around these parts. Sunday I had the stomach flu. I woke up this morning actually feeling better. That is, until I tried to open my eyes. Only one eye opened. Backing up, Thursday my eyes had really itched but it was so warm here I thought my allergies were kicking in. So I started taking Benadryl on top of my normal allergy medicine. Friday I woke up and my eye was swollen (no where near the picture above though) and itchy. I cancelled my hair apt and spent the day putting ice on it. By Stomach flu Sunday my eye was feeling better, albeit still itchy and somewhat swollen. I spent the night putting cold compresses on it everytime I woke up so it would look good for work. And then I woke up to this. I about freaked out! Some of you may remember my last Eye Swelled Shut Dr Visit  a few years ago when I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. However this time I had no rash or hives. Thankfully my dr's office has an online ...
