Last week's recap is short and sweet because a longer recap of a very special day is coming!! I started off the week by finishing designing, printing and laminating my new No Soliciting sign. I get So.Many. random people knocking on my door. Drives me nuts. We shall see if this sign deters any of them!   Wednesday I was bright eyed and busy tailed and counting down the days! Two more sleeps until my special very exciting Friday!!!!   I drove to KY and FINALLY got to meet Sweet Evie!!!! And I got to see my favorite 3 yr old blonde, Addie Jane! She is such a delight! She was a cutie as a baby and toddler but she is downright hilarious now that she is 3! And still my little lovebug. She loves big that Addie Jane. Don't you just want to squeeze her??!! Full recap of the trip and meeting Miss Evie is coming! Prepare yourself for a ton of pictures!

Last Monday was the first day of Fall Schedule for the studio. Despite the fact that I teach year round, I thought it was worthy of a photo op! I made most of my students pose with the sign, all week long, (for their first lessons of fall schedule.) Minus, the newbies and the teens that I knew would give me a big eye roll. ;)  I think it was also Monday that I hung up my new little shelf box thingy on the wall. I started working on putting it up while my lawn mower boy was here. And while I don't have a huge lawn, it takes a little bit of time to mow it. That being said I thought I would still be trying to get that dumb thing on the wall when he left!! I got the brilliant idea to put it up with screws. So that involved having to charge up my power drill, and then having to put drill bits on to drill holes in the wall and  thru the box. It was a hot a mess. I am usually not too bad with my power drill. I don't know what my problem was that day but I was SWEATIN...

Book Review: A Rumored Fortune by Joanna Davidson Politano

What to say about this book? Well, I didn't finish it. Because I didn't love it. Was it a terrible book? No. Would some people like it? Most likely yes. Was I one of those people? No. But then again I am somewhat picky with a book. It has to grab me within the first few chapters and this one didn't. While I don't have a full review of this I can tell you what it is about! The premise sounds interesting.  A young woman, Tressa, is sent for by her father to return to their estate in south England. Only when she and her Mother arrive they discover that her father has died. Without telling her where he has hidden his rumored vast fortune. He always said he would tell her before he died, but didn't get the chance.  As you can imagine many people want to find the fortune before those who rightly deserve it (aka Tressa). So she is on a race against time to find the fortune before someone steals it. If you like Regency books this one might be for ...

At the beginning of the week I got the most exciting item in the mail! A letter from my Snugglemuffin! His first real letter he has sent me!! So sweet! I may have gotten a tear in my eye after seeing my name on the envelope in his sweet little handwriting.  I ordered a Titanic Piano book, and it got lost in the mail, and then surprised me by showing up weeks after ordering it. I had to sit down and have some practice time with it. I LOVE the movie Titanic and had this book back in HS. I actually played two of the songs in it for my senior Piano Recital! I've had a fun time rocking out on the piano this week!  Thursday was a really sad day. The last day of Summer Schedule. I.e. the last day of me getting done teaching before 8 pm. Sniffles. I had plans to celebrate and do something fun that afternoon but those plans fell through so I continued my cleaning and organizing that I started on earlier in the week. (I realized Summer was almost over and I had done ZER...

By this point I can barely remember two weeks ago, but here we go! Monday I was decked out in all green, in honor of Mason #masonsgotguts, this little boy in Texas who suffers from something I cannot spell. So just look up the hashtag above and you'll be informed! His family was donating a certain amount of money per person that wore green, so green it was for me!  That Wednesday I was in a funky mood and I decided what I needed to lift my spirits was NSYNCS Christmas station on Pandora.    Thursday afternoon I ran to Target to check out their back to school dollar spot. I didn't get what I was looking for but I did find a few cute items. And got a Coke Icee. I think the latter is my favorite part of Target trips! Anyways, as I was sitting at the light to leave I was behind this truck. Just read his bumper stickers and then his license plate. That's all I will say about that!  Sunday morning it was HOT as usual, so sleeveless it was for ...

Last week it was time to go to the local nursing home I play at. I sported my new Walmart clearance shirt and greatly enjoy the fact they had the a.c. on for me!! I got to meet a nurse I didn't know and an activities assistant and chat with them. I also met my new favorite resident. She was feisty and I LOVED her!!  On Thursday am I made my way over to the 4-H fair to get my annual lemon shake up and pulled pork bbq sandwich and to visit some students with animals. Sadly, the goat student was not there, but I got to visit another student and meet her horse! And take a selfie, which I thought was hilarious.  My business was one of the sponsors for the horse show so I got to see our name and website on the board outside the stables!!  At this point I wished I had named my company something earlier up in the alphabet. I was basically sitting on the ground...  Friday after all the piano playing and fair walking it was a perfectly timed last m...

Book Review: Beneath the Surface by Lynn H. Blackburn

Y’all. I think I have a new favorite contemporary author! Any author who can tell you about something you don’t know much about and that doesn’t sound all that fascinating, and make it super interesting. That my friends is a winner. And that my friends is what Lynn H. Blackburn did! This book is the first in a series (HURRAY!!!!!!) about a group of Dive Team Investigators that work for a law enforcement agency. I bet you never thought about the police having a dive team investigation section now did you? I sure didn't! I love a good mystery, and I love a good romance, and when they are put together and in a Christian book. Well, it’s rare. It’s rare that it is done well. Other than Dee Henderson’s books I really haven’t found many romance mystery Christian authors that I really like. But now I am adding Lynn H. Blackburn to that list. This book was filled with a good mystery that kept me on my toes but also allowed me to sleep at night. And I appreciat...

Book Review- Becky Wade Falling for you

Becky Wade- Falling for you So this is my second time writing a review for this book. The first time I had several reviews written in word and then my computer restarted and ate my document. ARGH! This is the second book in the Bradford Sisters series, and it focuses on Willow, who is a model. Now just from reading that you probably would think you don’t have a lot in common with the main character, but that is where you would be wrong! Willow is a homebody and although she is very famous, doesn’t act like it. She is very humble and kind.  This book picks up when Willow is home and running the Inn while her parents are away. She needed a break from modeling and to reassess her life. As she is doing this her ex boyfriend Corbin comes onto the scene, with his adorable tween niece Charlotte, who has a family mystery that she needs help in solving. I love that these books have not just romance but a little mystery to liven things up a bit more than your typical romanc...
