A Few Festive Pics from my Christmas with my family... I think I need to figure out how to better arrange them! I am struggling!! It was a wonderful several days at my parents farm, just hanging out with the family and not doing much of anything. To be honest, I was so wiped Friday after Christmas that I slept much of the day. Ahhh.. life without a husband and children. Its quite nice sometimes!! My brother Kevin and his wife Liz, came all the way from Iowa just to spend time with us! That was nice because we don't get to see them tons with them living 5 hours away. What you can't see in this picture is how he was pinching my side and how I had just yelped in pain in the previous picture.. Yeah, he's a lovely brother... He does what he can since the rule of no touching your sibling unless you are hugging, that was established August 2004 after the Kevin gives Charity a concussion wrestling match... 1. I drink. ALOT. Not alcohol mind you, but almost any other beverage. I always have a drink nearby, no matter what. I'm not diabetic, but I'm just always thirsty!! 2. I love shoes but I hate wearing them. I am constantly buying cute shoes and end up never wearing them for some reason or another. I would much rather prefer to be barefoot. Hence, me walking around my office without shoes on!! 3.I love to read. If I am into a book I usually finish it within a day, two days at the most.. I can never read a few chapters here and there, I have to finish it to find out what happens!! 4. MY ankle is still sprained and I am STILL stuck wearing my very attractive ankle brace. I am beginning to wonder if it will ever heal up so that I can walk without pain. 5. I love sleep. I can sleep and sleep and sleep forever. Yesterday I slept in untill 12:45 and by 2 pm I had laid down for a nap! I blame it on the medicine i'm on. Causes extreme drowsiness. Or at least thats my story! 6. I can&

And all through my apt, all you can hear is the sound of sleet and freezing rain. Its been wonderful weather in Indiana lately... Our high on Sunday was 4, with 40 mph winds, which resulted in a wind chill of -20. At that point I was wondering if PCC was hiring because going back to Florida was sounding like a better and better idea. Thankfully we've had a HEAT WAVE and it was a whopping 22 yesterday!! WOOT!! Now we're dealing with ice, and sleet and freezing rain which is really fun. I barely made it to the parking garage today without killing myself an injuring my ankle worse.. I slipped and almost fell twice. Needless to say my ankle was a tad swollen when I got home. Lovely. Tomorrow I have to work untill 5, yes I know, a travesty on Christmas eve!! And then I will make the trek home to my parents farm. That night will be busy with wrapping presents (i ran out of wrapping paper!) and cooking. Yes, I just said cooking. A frightful 4 degrees if you were wondering! 40+mph winds and gusting.. Windchill is -20.. Beautiful day really!! And lucky ol me, I got to go out in it! I had to work today, yes on a Sunday. Today was winter commencement at Purdue, and we had our Commencement Reception for our CFS Grads. Since I was in charge of it I had to be there. Which wasn't a problem, but boy did I wish it was warmer outside!!!! The reception went well, people stayed and talked for longer than normal I am told. Probably because they didn't want to go out in the cold! I don't blame them!! After that I went to Katie's to give her the boys Christmas Presents and her present. I got to make her day and that was totally fun. I didn't stay there for long as they looked pretty tired. I figured as long as I was out, shoot, why not go to Walmart and pick up my medicine and a few things I needed. So off to Walmart I went. 1. I am home sick. AGAIN. I'm having surgery for my tummy Jan 14 and am desperately hoping I can make it to that day without missing more work. I am getting really tired of puking. 2. My ankle is still sprained. Still wearing the brace, and it swells everynight by the time I get home from work. Walking is easier but still not that great. Man, I sound like I'm falling apart!! 3.I got my hair cut this week. I thought it was WAY too short but I've gotten alot of compliments on it and its soo easy to do. And so easy to dry!! 4. This is the third Friday in a row that I've been injured/sick/out of commission. MY social life is lacking right now!! 5. I am ALMOST done with Christmas shopping!! Catherine has inspired me to try and do the Seven Random Things about me Friday. So here goes... 1.I prefer Fountain Pop with Ice! to Pop in a can (and yes I call it Pop) There is just something about the taste of a Fountain Pop that is sooo much better than a can. Well today was my first full day at my parents recovering from my injury and it wasn't too exciting.. I attempted to sleep in, but had so much on my mind I couldn't sleep past 9 am. After not getting to sleep untill 1-2 am and waking up numerous times ALL.NIGHT.LONG. that did not make me a happy camper. Thankfully I was able to take a nap this afternoon on the world's most comfortable couch. Which was Lovely untill my Mom rudely awakened me by putting ice on my ankle. Yup, its still swollen, but its getting better. I can actually see the outline of my ankle bone now and it doesn't look totally like a cankle. WOOT!! Progress! However, my entire foot is all the colors of the rainbow. Except for my toes. They somehow managed to stay their normal color, but the rest of my foot looks jaundiced and is all bruised and nasty.. Well this week is going just swimingly really. Currently I am holed up on the couch at my parents house. I got up to go to work this morning and passed out in the shower. That was fun. It got even better when I started throwing up on myself when I came to. (I told you I was having a great week) Not sure if it was from the pain of my ankle or my stomach problem, which I'm having surgery for Jan 14. But needless to say I did not return to work today. As a matter of fact, I talked to my Dr and I'm not returning to work untill next Monday, December 15. I was really worried about missing work and freaked out over this morning, when I emailed my boss to let her know what was going on. I asked her what to do about missing, since I've never had a problem like this to miss work. She emailed me back the nicest message with some GREAT NEWS! Well I fell leaving work last Friday, while trying to avoid being ran over by a car.. Thankfully my ankle isn't broken, but it is severely sprained. My Dr has put me on strict orders to elevate and ice it 24/7 and no walking, unless to the bathroom, untill Weds.. Soo needless to say I am off work untill Weds and its been pretty boring. There really isn't alot on TV these days people.. I can't wait to be able to move around again!! Jesus is COOL!!

There is nothing like waiting untill almost a week has passed to blog about the holiday. :) Suffice it to say I had a WONDEFUL Thanksgiving with my family!! I got to see my pet cow, Precious.. I also got to spend time with my wonderful doggie, Beastie. He was very excited to see me, even though he doesn't look like it in the picture. Everytime I get my camera out, he tries to pose. Unfortunately that involves thrusting his head up very high.. Poor dog struggles!! And what thanksgiving would be complete without Kev and Liz's annual Wrestling match. Last year Liz solidly kicked Kevin's behind. Sadly, this year since they are married, I do believe Kev took the gloves off, and well... you can see what happened.. Don't worry Liz, there is always next year!!!! (and the next 50 as well!) I just love how Kev is posing whilst he kicks her bottom. Another sad sign that we are infact related...
