The only Memorial Day Pics...

I had some time between church and lunch and since my poor Dad hates having his picture taken and has been praying for my camera to die, I decided to amuse myself upstairs in my room while i was waiting for the hamburgers to grill. I got a new lipgloss at CVS the other day it was half off. Wet and Wild I think and I really like it! But then again I love lip gloss and nail polish and really any sort of makeup! A picture of my cute little outfit for church! Mom washed it and I'm wearing it again Tuesday to work. :) You can't tell but my shoes are purple and have three ruffles on them that are different purple tones! SO STINKIN CUTE!! I got them two weeks ago at Kmart on sale. I really wish they had the blue ones in my size. I may have to stalk them for that! So yes, these are the only Memorial day pics I got. Today I got up after sleeping in and packed up and headed back to Laffy. I was so worried about going over the speed limit and getting a ticket that I may have driven just a

Lunch with my Man!

OK so this is a little late, but over a week ago I had lunch with Katie and my Sammy!!!! He was SUCH a love bug!! He would eat and then give me a hug and crawl all over me like you see in the picture above. I loved it! I also taught him how to get a thumbs up! Here is is giving a thumbs up on his taco!! We did have a slight problem where he forgets the thumb is supposed to be UP and not in his fist. :) I can't remember what this face was over but it danged cute and funny! I love that little kid!! Oh and I love my Katie Marie as well :)

Stream of Consciousness

Really impressed that I actually spelled that word right! Well I figure if this is good enough for McMama then its good enough for me! Had a good day today. Slept great last night in my home bed, and woke up before my alarm went off for church! Had a great praise and worship part at my parents church. they had an actual praise team leading it-mostly youth and they were really good. Usually I dread the music portion of it because they sing every verse to every song and its goes kind of slow but this was really good!! The Pastors son is growing into a young man. I can remember when he was born. I used to keep him in the nursery. Now he is taller than me. and growing facial hair. that was depressing. Almost sent me to walmart for some anti wrinkle cream after that. Came home and we had hamburgers on the grill, home grown thankyouverymuch! and potatoes and some pasta salad that i didn't eat. attempted to take a nap but didn't get a great one because my parents kept talking. i'

7 Quick Takes

1. This week will go down in history as one of the most un fun ever. 8 of me and my friends were lucky enough to catch the "Wedding Germination". Yes from Ellen's wedding last week. It didn't help that we were all together Monday night as well getting double the germs. Tonight was the first time I have eaten since Monday and been able to keep it down/not feel like puking. 2 This week will also go down as one of the most boring and depressing in history. Being sick. Alone. Without any human contact and no end in sight of the pukiness. No bueno. 3. Maybe I should have just renamed this as my crappy sick week? 4. On the up side I started reading a book tonight that is really super good. Its an FBI thriller book from one of my fave authors. Love it. 5. I can't wait to wear my fabulous new purple ruffely flats to church on Sunday. they are so festive!! 6. Does anyone else have the problem of nail polish coming off the tips of your fingers, even the day or same day that

Today was a magical day...

Today was such a beautiful magical day. Ellen got married today!!! The little girl I have known since she was 6 years old is now a beautiful married woman!! I got to see her before the wedding and it was really special. I had seen pictures of her in her dress but to see the whole package put together. WOW. it took my breath away and I almost cried. But I was too excited for her! She was typical Ellen, hyper, excited and just ready!! I love that about her! Probably because we're so much alike!! And then I got to see my Amy!! It was SO GOOD to hug her!! I haven't seen her since her wedding a year and a half ago, since she moved to Hawaii with her hubs. I just love her. We've been friends for 15 years now and I know no matter what she'll always be there for me. Amy and Ellen aren't just friends. They are family. The lovely Apes went with me to the wedding and we had such a good time!! It was seriously one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to! Not stuffy, lots o

However it didn't hide my dark circles u

My little Pappoose is getting married today!!

I can't believe the day has finally come!! Today my dear, sweet "little pappoose" is getting married!! I have known Ellen since she was 6 years old. She was the little sister of my best friend Amy growing up and in the 15+ years that I have known her I have spent ALOT and I mean ALOT of time at her house, with her family and have loved seeing her grow up into the BEAUTIFUL, Godly woman that she is today. We've been friends, and she's been like a little sister to me, through thick and thin and multiple questionable hairstyles and colors. Ellen & Amy and their family are good people. The kind of friends that even if you haven't seen each other in awhile you pick up right where you left off. We may not hang out much but I know if anything ever happened they would all be there for me, no questions asked. Those are the kind of people that you hold onto if you are lucky enough to find them and I am so glad that I found them! They are my other family! Its been wo

Ladies who Lunch! May edition

The Emster and I met up today at Chik Fil A for our monthly Ladies who Lunch!!! As you can see she is as beautiful as ever, Pregnancy definately agrees with her! You will notice there is no belly shot here. I did get one, it wasn't very good but I got it dangit! however I value my life enough not to post it on my blog. (right now that is) Stay tuned for June's edition because then we'll know what the bump is!! Yes Coral, this is for you! :) We went to chik fil a today because we got a free #1 meal for being listeners of our local country station. Us and about half of the population of L-town. When I got there I had to park next door at Logans and the line was out the door. Em had texted me as I left work that she was in line and I could cut with her, and to come in the front door and bypass the line. So I did. Only to see her walking away from the front. yes, she had just ordered! I was like SERIOUSLY???! So she said just slide in there and cut. So I did. I know. I have n

Sometimes all you need... is just a little Gokey........

I suppose I should start with the fact that it's pretty sad that I have Danny Gokey labels for post and my computer remembers them. I don't think that's a good sign but I will blissfully ignore that for now! I had a tragic incident happen to me last week. I was in a grumpy mood over lunch and decided to watch some Danny Gokey videos from AI on my ipod to cheer me up. I went to the video section and they were not there. They were not anywhere on my ipod. Despite this horrifically tragic event I managed to stay calm and stay at work for the next 5 hours. Impressive, yes I know. I came home and fired up itunes after I barely had made it through the door. The videos weren't there either. This was quickly becoming an urgent situation. I plugged in my flash drive with the copies of all my music on them, from when my computer started struggling a few months ago and vainly tried to pull up my old itunes libraries and find my videos. No Bueno. No videos either. You would think t

I will carry you

If you haven't allready you need to run, not walk to your nearest bookstore, and pick up Angie Smith's new book "I will carry you". Yesterday it was free for download on barnes and noble's website (not sure if it still is) I dl'd it and proceeded to spend the next two hours sitting in the same spot reading the entire book. It. was. incredible. and beautiful. and so many other words that I can't even get out. I so appreciate Angie sharing her heart in this book and sharing what she went through when she lost her precious daughter, Audrey Caroline. I have many friends who have lost children as well, and no one really talks about it. Its kind of hush hush and you want to help them to do something, say something, somehow understand what they're going through and just do something that lessens their pain, if only for just a minute. I really think that anyone who knows someone who has lost a child should read this book. I believe its in the last chapter, An

Pink Weds

Some people have asked me what the meaning behind Pink Wednesday is aka Pink Weds so I thought I would share its story! 6 years ago when I started working in offices during college I just felt like I needed something to get me through the week, something to celebrate and mark a special day and just something to look forward to every week. So I started wearing Pink on Wednesdays, every Weds. And I have done it every Weds for the past 6 years! Every office I have worked at I have gotten people to participate and now at school we are getting our students involved. Starting this summer we're going to tell all of the classes about it and get as many people involved as we can. Its just a fun little thing to do. Weds is really the roughest day of the week. You’re smack dab in the middle with no end in sight, but instead of looking at it as a bad thing, we celebrate Pink Weds. ( Did you know that Weds is actually the top day for suicides? Its a fact! ) Pink is a very uplifting color and br

Nothing says Homeschooled....

Like an old lady flowered dress from Sears, fake pearls, big glasses and some seriously awkward bangs. Sadly you are missing the waist length frizzy hair and the kmart pumps. Alternately entitled 13 going on 70. And unless there are any doubts, I'm the 70 yr old in the middle.

Classic

I found this gem on my computer as I was cleaning out my files. Over 3 years later and its still stinkin hilarious to me!

My Peeps

My Small Group kids LOVE pictures so I let them play with my camera on Friday night and that was a big treat for them! They loved being able to take pictures of everyone and had such a good time doing it. Maybe too much of a good time, I had to delete a few pics of my booty. Thanks Kaiah.. Sam and I have come such a far way since the first night I watched him and he ran away from me! He loves his Miss Chair Di Didy! This picture shows why I usually schedule a chiropractor visit the morning after small group. Usually all four are on me at once. Lined up on my legs up to my back. Kaiah LOVES to read! Here she is reading one of my books that I read as a little girl! SO cool to be able to share them with the kids! I have become a human pillow/couch. And i love it :) This picture cracks me up. Usually all four are watching me color and have their heads down by my hands like Leslie does here. They like to "supervise me" and make sure i am staying in the lines and debate appropriate

7 quick takes

1. This weekend has been so busy, which is why this is a day late! 2. I can't wait to spend tomorrow with my Mom (and Dad!) They are coming to town to go to church with me and then have lunch and presents at my apt! 3. Not as good because she has that special Mom ingredient that she puts in but still it was danged good!! 4. Last night was our last Small Group before Summer break. I am happy and sad. Happy that I will have more free time but sad I won't see my kids every other week! 5. Speaking of the kids I let them play with my camera last night and they took some pretty hilarious pictures. You will see why I usually go to the chiropractor the morning after small group! HA!! 6. I discovered my new favorite store today, a bookstore very close to my apt. It has all kinds of used books, old books, its fabulous!!! They actually had newer books too. I was in book he

Finals Pink Weds!!

Here I am!!! And no, I didn't iron! And yes I probably should have! Will the blog world think bad of me for being wrinkly and dorky in my glasses? Why yes, I do have sparkly leopard print flats on! These pictures pretty much show whats going on. Wrinkly clothes, tired, itchy eyes that can't deal with contacts, so I look like a nerd in my glasses, makeup that wore off by lunchtime- exhaustion.. I cannot wait for finals week to be over. I can't tell you the level of exhausted I am right now. We thought today would start the slowing down. It didn't. If anything it only got worse, tons more traffic, phone calls, problems. This was not a good week to go full throttle not drinking pop. Not a good week at all. I didn't even realize I was getting a migraine untill after I left work and the sunlight hit my eyes and it felt like i was being stabbed in the head. 4 Excedrin and two migraine pills later and it still hurts just not as bad. So I"m going to bed blog world.

Eat this, not slimy lettuce..

Well its finals week here and let me just tell you that I think I would rather be taking finals again as a student rather than being on the other side!! Today was day #2 and already I have graded more tests than I can count. I was trying to keep track but I finally gave up. Two more INTENSE days and then hopefully, oh I pray, it will calm down. Its just very hectic and everyone is stressing out, at least we haven't had anyone cry yet. Yet. Last night I learned that even though your salad mix may still look green, if you have had it longer than a week and its a little bit slimy. Well. Its probably not the best idea to eat it. Take my word. I had an intense craving for a salad last night so I ate it and within a little bit I was like dude.. I don't feel so good... By the time Castle was over I REALLY didn't feel good. Thank goodness for anti nausea meds. I still only got about 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Woke up early this morning and still didn't feel good but I downe

Spider Attack!

My heart rate is somewhat accelerated. I was sitting here writing an email to the whole school and suddenly I saw movement upon my ledge. It was a SPIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I yelped out OH MY GOODNESS, Grabbed an entire box of Kleenexes jumped out of my chair like it was on fire ran around to the front of the desk, grabbed about half of the Kleenexes out of the box and squashed that sucker dead. Meanwhile April and Lana were staring at me saying what’s going on?!! Spider, I panted. No worries, I killed it…   April said next time I see a spider to let her know and she would kill it for me. J
