Weekend Wrap-Up

So I am a little late to the whole weekend wrap up post, and it's not because I was busy today! On the contrary I have been up since 9:30 am, cooked two meals, cleaned the final boxes out of my spare room closet-more on that later, and watched way too much Sister Wives. Ok so maybe I was legitimately busy, except for the last item. On to it!  I had a great weekend! Friday at her lesson Taya told me about the huge garage sale that was going on at her church the next day. She had been working there all week, helping get set up, ect. They were raising money for a future missions trip for the teens and I could not pass that up! So I got up way early for a Saturday and I was so happy that I did! Taya carried around all of my books, bless her heart, I got 11 books and they were up to her eyeballs literally!!! I also got the super cute basket she's holding-to give to my Mom. I also got the red tulips and a cute vase as well! And I only paid 4.00 for all of it! I am holding

Life in Phone Pics

Can I just say how much I appreciate the fact that my new phone takes so much better pictures than my old one?! I have been using my phone for almost all of my pics! And bonus, no purple hair! Above is a new dessert I made. A Smores Cookie Bar. It was yummy. I had some and then realized I would eat the entire thing if I kept it. So I gave 90% of it away to my students. This just cracked me up. Last weekend when I was elevating my feet I obviously had the lights off and yet my toes were so neon pink that you could still see them in the darkness!  My toes weren't the only thing pink on my body. My sunburn was of an epic proportion. now it has started to peel. Everywhere. Even my arms. yuck. I'll spare you from that! Oh well, at least my hair looked cute here!  Yes, I am really showing you a picture of my cabinet. Last night I decided to totally move all but one of my cabinets. Erm. or rather the insides of them. My dishes and glasses used to be in the pict

Soooooo today didn't exactly go as planned....

Today I learned that if you ever want to be seen quickly at the ER, all you have to do is walk in and tell them your legs and ankles are swollen and you're feeling short of breath. Within three minutes you'll find yourself in a wheel chair being taken back to your own room. Long story short, last night my ankles started swelling to massive proportions. This morning they were still swollen as were my entire legs, part of my back and arms. After discussing it with my Dr, it was decided that I should go to the ER. So I drove myself. Yes, Yes I did! not the first time either, and most likely won't be the last! I spent a lovely 5 ish hours at my favorite hospital. After being taken back to my room I had an EKG, heart checked out great, then blood work. After my blood work things really heated up as My D-Dimer (i think) was off the charts high. The ER Doc nonchalantly came in and told me this and that it meant that I had blood clots in my legs or lungs, or possibly b

Weekend Wrap-Up

I had a lovely weekend! Sunday I was really excited as the former American Idol contestant, Joanna Beasley, was at my church to lead worship! I go to a church that is one church-with multiple locations. Typically we have a video of our Lead Pastor Steve Poe preaching on the big screen, and each campus has their own worship. The main campus is Carmel is super big, so all of the special guests usually go there. So we miss out alot at our small campus here in Lafayette!  Our worship leader just left to be a pastor in MO, so we've had a variety of fill in's while we try to fill his place. Well today Joanna Beasley just happened to be our fill in! And a pretty awesome one at that! She has a beautiful voice and was super nice and so easy to talk to! I  asked her for a picture as she was walking by and complimented me on my purse. So we took a picture and chatted and she was just a nice normal person!  After church I hurried back to my house, good thing I live only a f

Goodbye, My Friend

Dear Sue When I found out that you were sick I wanted to write you a note to tell you what a huge impact you have had on my life. I didn't know how much time you had left on this earth and felt silly doing it then. Now I have waited too long to tell you, but I am still writing this letter so that your husband and family can know what a wonderful person that you were to me and how much I truly loved you! I struggled finding a word that would fit the place and role that you have played in my life. Friend seemed to not convey the closeness that we have had. To me, and to my family, you have always been family to us. It’s a known fact that when our family had exciting news we would always compete to see who could reach you first, because we all wanted to be the one to tell you!  I usually won out since I live here in town and could call you in the morning at work, but I will tell you that my Mom and Dad, particularly my Dad! Always gave me a run for my money! Whenever anythi

Last Week...

Last Weds I had to get up at an un-Godly hour to be ready for the carpet cleaners coming to my home. Since I teach later at night I do not get up early! It was a little rough! Needless to say the next day I slept until 1 pm! I convinced Emboz to go to breakfast with me. Here I am at her house ringing and ringing the doorbell. Just praying she would let me in. She finally did thank goodness!! I drove us to Bob Evans where we had a lovely breakfast with this stinker. She is just SO funny! In this picture I was trying to get her to look at me, and kept saying, Madi, Madi, look at me! She turns and says YESSSSSSS???? with this cheesy face. Love that stinker!!  After I dropped them off back at their house I ran a quick errand for my Mom and then decided that I was going to take myself to a movie! I have not been in a movie theatre since I don't remember when. I seriously don't remember the last one I saw. It's been at least 2 years. I do love going to a movie in the m

Zoie, Jesus and Buck Creek Pizza!

I have been looking forward to Saturday for quite some time! Because on Saturday, I was able to meet up with my friend Zoie, who I went to college with at PCC! We were both Music Majors and were in almost all of the same classes every single day! As you can imagine we were quite close, especially after we found out that we were both from Indiana! I hadn't seen her since her wedding despite us living a little over an hour away from eachother! Sad, I know! But Saturday she was in my town for an Anniversary party so we were able to meet up! I got to meet her little boy Kellam, and see her Hubby Mike!  They came over to my place and we talked and played with Kellam and looked at old pictures of our college days, reminiscing about the crazy things that went on at PCC! The look on Mikey's face during this was priceless! You don't understand it unless you have been there! Finally we realized we were STARVING and we headed out to eat some good ol Buck Creek Pizza! They

Bits and Pieces..

Pictures are out of order, but last week I got my hair trimmed and thinned, (THANK GOODNESS!!!) and while I was there Jda asked me if she could straighten it. I had the day off and nowhere to be so I said sure why not! I rarely straighten my hair because it takes SO long, and I am hot sweaty and sore by the time I'm done. And my hair will still not be completely straight!  This was the straightest I have ever seen my hair in 31 years of life! And that is with the chemical hair straightening I did in college!!!! I did not recognize myself!  When I got home from the salon I had a box of goodies from Sephora. Happy Day! I did not like the BB cream, so I returned it today. Love their free returns!! I got the waterproof of my new favorite mascara from Tarte, and a 3 mascara sample from Lancome! I was pretty geeked about that! I also got some spray tanner stuff which I have not yet tried. Stay tuned!  Jda, the new master of my hair!!!!!! I seriously did not recogn
