Christian Cubicles

I stole this from stuffchristianslike.blogspot.com In a few weeks, they’re moving my department at work and everyone is talking about what type of cubicles we’ll get. Will they have high walls or short walls? Will there be cabinets or drawers or neither? Will we be in a high foot traffic area or tucked away off a back alley where it’s quiet? Will we be close enough to the break room to smell microwave popcorn or far enough away that whoever heats up seafood in the toaster oven can’t cover us in a blanket of funk? This is a time of great questions in cubicle land, but the only one I have is:How Christian will my cubicle be?It’s a fair question. Some people use their cubicles as tiny little sanctuaries, bedazzling every flat surface with Jesus memorabilia. Other people use their cubicles as conversation starters with coworkers, “Oh what this? That’s just an old Bible I keep around. Speaking of the Bible, would you like to accept Jesus into your heart before we go to the next staff meetin

Big News in Cherryland!!

More than likely this will not be the last Blog you hear from me today. I am one of three people at work and it is deathly quiet. I've been playing my Christmas music to try and keep me from nodding off at my desk.. Needless to say its going to be a painfully LONG afternoon! Anyways, my big news. I am looking into continuing my education at PURDUE and getting another degree!! Two and 1/2 years ago when I finally graduated college, if you told me I would be going back for another degree I would have laughed in your face! But when you work at a University that gives you tuition half price, and the degree you currently have transfers into one of their programs, therefore cutting your schooling time in half, well, its really a no brainer. I'm excited and nervous. I am tentatively planning on starting next fall... I have allready began communicating with the School of Technology, incidentally where my brother got all THREE degrees from!! So i'm excited and trying to gear mysel

I'll be hoommmmeee for Christmas!

Last night at Casa Charity was spent cleaning and decorating for Christmas! I usually put my tree up after Thanksgiving, but my parents brought it and my two tubs of decorations down to me last weekend, so I decorated last night. It looks really festive! I am loving my new pre-lit tree, even if the middle of the tree has a strand that keeps blinking off. I totally did NOT add another strong of regular star lights to it to pretend that it worked. nope, not me!! I even decorated my bathroom! The only place in my apt that isn't very Christmas-y is my bedroom. Really how can you take something pink and purple and make it look Christmas like? Well actually I did that with my bathroom but minor detail. My one consession to the season in my bedroom was switching to my red and white snowflake flannel bedding. Sadly, somehow I lost my dust ruffle in the moving process last January, so I currently have my snowflake comforter on top and my purple and white dust ruffle on bottom. I plan on j

Lins Bridal Shower

Me and Lins!! The BRRRIIIIDDEE!! I had a fun weekend, Friday night was my friend Lindsey's Bridal Shower. Lins and I have been friends since we went to college together at Ivy Tech. We were both Office Admin and had many of the same classes together and have been friends ever since!! I'm so excited that she has finally found the man of her dreams and is getting hitched! She has always been the Career girl, never as boy crazy as I have been so its really cool to see her settle down! Sadly, she is getting married at a temple out of state (she's Mormon) so I will not be able to go to her wedding on 12-12, BUT she is having a reception Jan 24 so we will get our dancing groove on then!! Me and Sarah the brides sister! It was in Linden, which i had to get directions to because I had no ever loving clue WHERE it was. And I am proud to say that I did NOT get lost!!!! Much fun was had at the shower, I sat with her sister Sarah, who is even crazier than I am :) I ended up being the

Slow Fade...

Can I just say how excited I am that it is almost Thanksgiving? I am so in need of rest its not even funny! This has been a very busy week for me and sadly I have two more days of busyness. As soon as I get home from church on Sunday I am laying down on my couch and not moving for hours!! Last night I did not leave work untill after 7 pm.. We had our Fall Honors Reception and I was in charge of the whole event, so of course I was a nervous wreck! and then some! Thankfully it went quite well, despite what shall now be known as the "Pizza Malfunction" I ordered WAY too many pizzas for the event. Needless to say, every student went home with a Pizza, a class got 4 pizzas and the Bike Club also got pizzas. And yes, I also got two. Anyone wants to guess what I had for lunch today? :) Yesterday at work we got new computers. FINALLY! The back desk has one monitor, and the front desk has double monitors, which is taking some getting used to. I've only been at the front desk to co

Maybe I am a blonde afterall?

Some funny stories from Cherryland.. Last week while hunting around for some toothpaste under my sink I found a small container of Juniper Breeze B&B Lotion. Being very excited, because it smells SO GOOD!! I threw it in my purse for work the next day. It is winter after all! The following day my hands were very dry so I got out my lotion to moisturize them. As I was rubbing my hands together I thought it felt a little strange, but B&B has so many variations of body lotion that I didn't think much of it... 5 mins later my hands were feeling a tad sticky, so I decided to see what kind of special lotion it was. Well it wasn't lotion, but it was Body Wash!!!! I felt so stupid thinking I had been moisturizing my hands with body lotion! Sadly, the tube is still in my purse as I keep forgetting to take it out. I will have you know though when I went in the bathroom to wash my hands, all it took was a little bit of water and whoosh!! bubbles everywhere! they were quite clean af

My Saturday night dates!!

I have been seriously lack about updating my blog. Truth be told there is not an abundance of super interesting events going on in my life. Saturday night I have a lovely date night/movie night with Katie and her boys. I have grown quite attached to those little stinkers. They're just too cute!! After not being around little kids since I finished college and joined a different church, its a real treat to get to spend time with her little boys. Joe, the 4 yr old, is just a little cuddle bug, but SO full of energy!! He was sleepy on Saturday so he wasn't bouncing off the walls like he normally is. We watched Ice Age 2, and he cuddled on the couch with me for over half of the movie. He half fell asleep while he was laying on me, but Katie woke him up with the camera flash. (it was too sweet not to take a picture!) I am still waiting on her to email the pictures to me. They turned out so cute!!! HE is just the sweetest little boy, and has gotten quite attached to me. Sammy, the one

I love my awful beautiful life!!

Well I was sitting here trying to think of something super exciting to talk about. And I'm still thinking. 45 mins later... Not many exciting things have been going on in the life of Cherryber... I'm continuing to work every 5 days a week and and looking into joining the co-rec at Purdue next semester and joining some pilates classes. Its gotten extremely cold here in Indiana, yesterday morning it was in the 20's as I was walking to work. I cannot STAND the cold, and with the time changing its getting dark when I'm leaving work every evening. It makes me want to go home, curl up in a ball and sleep!! My days of staying up past 10 pm on weeknights are gone untill next summer I believe. Even though it is mind numbingly cold outside I am embracing winter. With it comes two of my favorite holidays, thanksgiving and Christmas!! Both will be spent on my parents farm with my parents, bro and sil. I am very much looking forward to both!! Kim will not be joining us for Christma
