Audra's Merry Birthday Christmas!

It's New Year's Eve and I am working on getting caught up with blogging all of the latest happenings during this Holiday Season. I figured I would start with the most recent and blog about Audra's Birthday/Christmas Dinner Celebration! Her Birthday falls right before Christmas, so we always combine our celebrations into one dinner. This year we did it after Christmas, after I got back from the Farm. Attempting to get decent pictures with a 10 month old. Well.. Let's let the pictures do the talking..  She smiles but her eyes are closed.  She looks at me.  She looks down. And so on! Our Selfie game was NOT working that night!  Time for presents! Actually Addie just wanted to clear the presents off of the coffee table. Apparently she likes a clean table.  Opening presents. Ok, next year I will go with a gift bag for her. Ripping off the paper was a little bit of a struggle. Made worse by the fact that it was THICK paper.

Drab to Fab Makeover-New Chair

In the past 6 months or so, I have been slowly working on re doing my living room. It started with getting rid of my huge entertainment center, and painting my new free at the curb, sofa table. (If I was a good blogger I'd link to that post but I'm not, so you can just search!) The next step was getting rid of my love seat and replacing it with a comfy chair to sit and read in. Around Labor Day weekend I saw this chair posted on craigslist, FOR FREE!!!!! Free is basically my favorite word, next to chocolate, and pizza. So I jumped on it! Even though the chair had broken leather in places I could see it's potential! So I went and met a lady and picked up this chair on the way home to my parents for the weekend. My mom LOVES it when I bring home surprise furniture. (Note the Sarcasm) While I was home, my Mom told me she had some fabric for recovering furniture she was going to get rid of. She showed it to me and I thought it was perfectly

Lately...

Life Lately has been in a word.. Crazy. Insane. Exhausting. BUSY. Oh wait, that was more than one word. Well you get the point! From the middle to end of November it has been non stop busyiness for me. It's the most wonderful time of the year, but also the busiest for a Musician! One wedding, two solo concerts, and my Studio's Christmas recital, in the span of about 3 and 1/2 weeks. Sweet Nibbletts!  Here is a peek inside the madness....  The first event in November was a Wedding I was playing at. I haven't played at a wedding in several years. I used to do TONS of weddings back in college days to earn money. however it had been awhile since I had played for one. So I said sure why not! I was so nervous that I would get sick before hand. I was exposed to the stomach flu not once, but twice by students that week, and I spent my time praying I'd stay well and taking all the vitamins I could handle. thankfully I did not succomb to the flu! But I was having the

Christmastime is here.....

I LOVE Christmas time! The lights! The Family! The Real meaning of Christmas! It's just my favorite time of year. I love decorating for Christmas and started early this year, but after seeing all of my on this day in years past on Facebook, I was apparently late to put my tree up! I put my tree up the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I was going to wait as I had a wedding that day, but then my power went off. And was off for hours. So up went the tree. I always put my favorite i.e. breakable ornaments on my tree, and put them near the top, since I have so many little people in and out of my home. Well I put the breakable ones up top, and then left the rest for my students and their waiting siblings to do. I sent a picture to Auds and captioned it something like you know you have a lot of little kids in your house when all of your breakable ornaments are on the top half of your tree. She thought that was all the ornaments I was putting on. and needless to say was concerned abou
