We made it a whole month of doing wrap ups! WHoo HOOO!! This week was a doozy. I am glad it's over and thankful for an upcoming week with no apts! I can't remember if I blogged about this last week but i'm loving my flower and lights display on the top of my sofa table! Last Monday, it was 1:30, and I was able to bake some lunch and dry my hair.... And then the power went off. And it stayed off until after 5 pm. I had to teach three lessons with the studio window shades pulled all the way up, numerous candles and then finally two additional oil lamps as it started getting darker. I was SO happy when the power came on during a lesson! And so very thankful that it came on before my evening lessons. Tuesday was a super busy day and I took a total of ONE picture. That afternoon I went out of town to the Nursing home I frequent, and played for their Alzheimer's wing. It is always a good time. And nice to spend some time around the elde

Book Review: An Uncommon Courtship by Kristi Ann Hunter- YOU NEED THIS BOOK!!!!!

I.LOVED.THIS.BOOK.  Period. I found myself reading this way past my bedtime, and then contemplating getting up EARLY so I could read before I had to teach. Considering my love of sleep and hatred for mornings this should tell you how GOOD this book was!!! This book centers around a couple who is forced into marriage, without knowing each other or really having met but one time. It's set back in the early 1800's in England, and focuses on the younger Hawthorne brother, Trent.  I love books like these, were strangers or people who barely know each other have to get married and then you eventually watch them fall in love. I think especially since something like this would never happen in our day and time, it's even more fascinating. This book went back and forth between Adelaide and Trent's point of view, and it was so well done! Usually it's hard to go back and forth between two different minds but the author did such a great job, it was seamless.

It's the end of the Third week of 2017 and I'm holding strong to my weekly wrap up blogging! WHOOO HOOO!!  This week was a quieter week, which was great after the super busy week previously. I also didn't feel that good for the majority of this week so I was thankful to not have a lot of extra things to do/places to be.  I started off the week with a seriously productive Monday. I love when I wake up an hour or so earlier than my alarm, because it gives me extra time to get stuff done before teaching. I like not feeling rushed! I got a lot of paperwork done, and even started on my TAXES! GO ME!!  I also had to make a quick run to Dollar General, and found this Chocolate coffee creamer on sale! I was stoked! I love my peppermint mocha coffee creamer so I had high hopes for this. It is good, just not sure if it's my favorite. Need to test it out some more!  That evening I had a student cancellation so I used that time to re arrange my food cabinets.  I

Book Review: For the Record by Regina Jennings

So it's taken me like five years to write this book review. Because I kind of really didn't want to. I tried to like this book. I tried to get into it, I just couldn't. The premise of this book is set back in the day, and is about a girl named Betsy Huckabee who wants to be a big time writer. She wants to write newspaper articles more than the girly things. A new Deputy, Joel Puckett, comes into town and she decides to start basing a series of writing on him, because he is the epitome of the dashing hero. Add to that, there is a mystery and nefarious things happening around her town. My issues with the book were two fold. One. I didn't feel like it was believable. This book was written in a time period that was much different for women. If you were woman you couldn't just come and go as you pleased. It just wasn't proper. Yet, the heroine of this story, comes and goes whenever and wherever at whatever time of day or NIGHT that she pleases. In the

Well it is my goal to do a weekly wrap up each week of this year. We'll see how this goes! Bekah over at Bekahsbits.blogspot.com does a great weekly wrap up, and she has inspired me to try and do my own! So let's get with it!  I got a package in the mail and I loved how they addressed it!!  I made out like a bandit at DG's Christmas Clearance. I bought over 300 Christmas Cards, which means I'm stocked up for next Christmas' Service project. As I was checking out the check out lady said " wow.... you send out a LOT of Christmas cards!!" I had to explain what they were for :)  My Mom got me several new tops for Christmas, and they, along with the gold bar "Choose Joy" necklace my Brother and SIL gave me, have been getting a lot of wear lately! It's nice to wear something different!  Speaking of DG I am officially obsessed with these heart pretzels. I don't even like pretzels all that much, unless they are covered
