Ladies who Lunch: August Edition!

Today we had our monthly Ladies who lunch, and this time I hosted at my new house! Since I have Friday's off it was great to eat in a home and have Madi be able to run around and play and not be confined in a restaurant high chair. I think she enjoyed herself! I picked them up since their vehicle was being worked on. Madi wasn't quite sure about Auntie Cherry driving. She was excited to be at my house though!! Since I have no table (Piano studio is in the dining room) she used my bench as her table. She wasn't to thrilled with eating though. But she had fun running around and playing! She really had fun with Benjamin's CAT truck! Although she had a slightly different way of riding on it. And like Benjamin she LOVED the buttons that made honking noises and the start up noise. Me and my girl! Love her! I discovered that Madi knows how to open Nail Polish. She painted some of her hair, forehead, and arm with a sparkly magenta polish. Apparently Auntie Cherry

Midweek Confessions

How much do I love that you can do bullet points in blogger? ALOT! I just totally forgot the three points I was going to post 24 hours later and I still can't remember what my points were. snap! I got some new makeup today thanks to the suggestion of Pink Lou Lou. Desperately trying to be a GIRLY Girl and master makeup- even tho I have no clue how to put it on properly I also bought a pair of fake eyelashes. I'm going to attempt putting them on again. Someone stop me if I end up looking like Amber from Teen Mom Speaking of Teen Mom, I stood in line for so long at Walmart that I got suckered into buy a Teen Mom magazine.

Your Wrong doesn't make mine Right...

We're getting real down to the dirty insides today, I share this in hopes of encouraging others and hopefully opening up eyes as mine are beginning to open. I'm going to share what God is teaching me, in posts tagged with "He's still workin on me". My brother and I sang that song as children, and it's words are so true. God is still working on me, to make me the Woman he wants to be. By his Grace I will be made new. I have recently discovered I have a very big sin issue with other people's sins against me.  I had someone ask me this weekend, how I dealt with people who constantly seemed to "get away" with doing things that were wrong and hurting people. I thought I was giving an honest answer but looking back it was a pretty Susie Sunday School Pat Answer . The truth is I struggle with it. Sometimes it is easier than others. It seems to be the worst for me when the offender is someone who I have been close to or had a relationship with. I

Green with Envy

Two blogs in one week? What is this world coming to???! I now have three day weekends so prepare yourselves, I might actually blog over the weekend as well. And dare I say it, maybe do something fun and exciting? The possibilities are endless!! In the meantime, pictures of my new favorite outfit. It's actually green which is shocking considering my love of all things PINK. This summer I have found myself in love with this bright shade of green. I think it's beautiful. I was so proud of myself for putting together this shirt and cardigan. I feel like I really struggle putting together "outfits" so I thought this was pretty big stuff!! I did have earrings on, little studs. I guess if I was really with it I would have had pretty jewelry on. I can only do so much people.  Miracle of Miracles my hair was actually looking pretty decent as well. I"ve been reading up on how you're supposed to style curly hair. Yes, I am 30 years old with naturally curl

Freedom Party!

So I'm sitting on my couch with my box fan on medium and I can still hear my neighbor Derrick's music thumping thru the walls. And since he isn't answering his door for me to tell him to TURN DOWN YOUR MUSIC!!!!! I have to distract myself. So congrats! You're getting a blog from me!  Friday night three of my closest friends and I met up at Texas Roadhouse for my aptly named-Freedom Party! It was my last day at work and I was ready to celebrate!! Audie was ready to have peanuts as you can see. We realized the last time we were both there was last year when we celebrated Apes last day at work! I told Audie she is next :)  Sweet, Sweet Audie brought me a gift! I swear she is southern! She always has a sweet gift or a really thoughtful gesture to celebrate any of life's moments. I cherish her friendship and hope her sweetness and thoughtfulness rubs off on me!  I LOVE this!!!! I was working on my policies and emailed her a copy for her to proof it, and it

Nerd Alert

So I decided to get some new pairs of glasses. I ordered them online from eyebuydirect.com and I am really happy with them! Despite having some issues measuring my own face to see how far apart my pupils are- seriously try it. it is DIFFICULT to measure one's own face. I will say though I did not know the glasses pictured above were going to be quite so large.. and nerdy.. but whatever. I feel like a nerd when I have my glasses on anyway so I suppose I should fully embrace my nerdy-ness! please excuse the total lack of makeup, it was bedtime people. Nerdy-ness aside I really like these glasses! I took them both to Sears to be adjusted (only downside of buying glasses online) and they now both fit perfectly and are very comfortable.  I'm just happy now I can see better on the weekend when I bum around without my contacts in.

Weekly Randoms

I'm attempting to blog regularly this fall, so bare with me as I get into a new swing of blogging, at first it's going to be a lot of randoms! I am so excited for our Women's Bible Study to Start! SO EXCITED!!!! I kind of haven't known what to do with myself all summer long not meeting with the ladies and studying the Word together. I feel like I need a Curly Hair Support group. Kind of like AA..... Someone needs to teach me how to tame this mess of craziness because what I'm doing is NOT working! I promise I really do attempt to style my hair in the morning. Despite what it looks like..... If you haven't went to Jordy's Blog and read my post on changes, you need to do so, Pronto! I explained all of the BIG changes going on in my life right now. For someone who hates change it's been quite interesting.  I had my exit interview at work today and have two more days left in the office. I don't think it has sunk in that on Monday I won'

Guest Blogging!!

I feel so official and cool today! I am guest blogging for my sweet friend Jordy ! We're talking about changes, and as I've alluded to, I have lots of changes going on in my life right now! So head over to her blog and check it out!! A Change will do you good!

Roomies

My Deployment Roommates have arrived!! Caca and Milo got here Saturday morning and we have been having a fun time of getting adjusted and the both of them moved in and situated! Caca drove thru the night Friday night so by after dinner Saturday she was toast! They napped while I watched the Real Housewives and read. It was a good evening! Sunday morning we went to church and it was so nice to have someone to go to church with!!!! Made my heart happy! We snapped some truck pics after the service! We are pros I tell you! Many many years of these pictures! After Church we ran to Walmart, Thankfully we were there early enough that we managed to avoid all of the Purdue students getting their move in essentials. We stocked up on what we needed and I was strong and avoided to clothes dept. Go me! After Walmart we took our groceries home and then went to Chili's for lunch! Where we had basically the worst server ever. He got our drinks and then we didn't see him for anoth

Mid Week Confessions

I bought some glasses online and realized I needed them fit to my ears because they kept sliding down my nose like a little old lady. I decided to take them to Sears, where I had purchased glasses the year before, in hopes they wouldn't realize they weren't Sears glasses. All was well on the first visit. However I needed them tightened just a bit behind my ears so I went back a second time and the Dr was working. I gave him my glasses and he looked at them and I could just tell. He asked me if I had bought them online. I cannot lie to save my life. So my eyes go up and to the far right corner of the ceiling and I say in a very high pitched trying for innocent voice "maaaaayyyyyyybbbeee??" He laughed and told me it was ok, he was just curious about the quality of them and how if any they differed from store bought ones. So we talked about that and he said you don't remember do you? I said remember what? He said you were here last year and we had a whole convers

Tidbits

Boy you would think I would have plenty to blog and talk about, but the sheer silence on my blog apparently states otherwise! I promise I will have lots of updates and posts coming soon.  This weekend my deployment roommate arrives! I am excited to see my Caca!! It's been 9 years since I have had any roommates so I am hoping that I adjust well to having one again :)  Her room is finally cleaned out and ready for her. Minus the making the bed and vacuuming. Having a guest certainly helped me keep my guest room clean and not like the JUNK room it was in danger of becoming after I moved in! I can't wait to show you all my living room when it is finished. I got new couches over the weekend and they are so comfy it's not even funny!! And they go perfect with my art work and curtains! Now to sell the old couch and chair and get the final piece of art work for my living room.  I am planning on purchasing a large mirror and then having my monogram put on it. Yes I totally w
