A Few Festive Pics from my Christmas with my family... I think I need to figure out how to better arrange them! I am struggling!!

It was a wonderful several days at my parents farm, just hanging out with the family and not doing much of anything. To be honest, I was so wiped Friday after Christmas that I slept much of the day. Ahhh.. life without a husband and children. Its quite nice sometimes!!

My brother Kevin and his wife Liz, came all the way from Iowa just to spend time with us! That was nice because we don't get to see them tons with them living 5 hours away.
What you can't see in this picture is how he was pinching my side and how I had just yelped in pain in the previous picture.. Yeah, he's a lovely brother... He does what he can since the rule of no touching your sibling unless you are hugging, that was established August 2004 after the Kevin gives Charity a concussion wrestling match... Ahhh.. sibling love... its a beautiful thing..

My Mom, of course was there. It is her house and after all, who would cook if she wasn't? Not any of us thats for sure!! You can really tell our family resemblance in this pic. Heck, every pic of us. And the first one to say "is that your sister" is getting blocked! Of course I don't know how to block but if I did I would!!

And a family get together wouldn't be the same without my crazy Grandma.. She wasn't feeling too photogenic that day so this is the best picture I have of both of us. Like the room and background? That is my parents newest addition to their house... We allready have a family room and a living room, and we aren't that creative so we just call this the new room. I know.. I said we weren't that creative! I mean for pete's sakes, our dog's name was Brownie. What do you expect from us?
So Christmas is over. (and yes my Dad was there, he just didn't make it into the photo cut.. thats what he gets for not wearing something nice on Christmas!!!!) And I am back at work. This week is New Years and I will be spending that with Katie and her little boys and then going back home on New Years day for a few days. I'm excited about all the family time and time off I am getting. PAID time off no less!! Ahh.. life is sweet!!
And for those of you who were wondering, yes that is the same sweater in two different colors. They were half off!!
JESUS IS COOL!!!

This week was rather lackluster, because I came down with a sickness on Monday and was down for the count Monday and Tuesday. I was super annoyed, because I had not taken a sick day since May and I was really trying to make it to 2019 without that happening! Boo!  My new coffee maker came in the mail, and it is so cute! It's like a miniature coffee maker, only makes 4 cups. It's adorable.  My nephew's 4'th Birthday present came as well. And I was a little concerned at the size of the box. Thankfully it wasn't as large as it appeared, but still a decent size!  Wednesday I rejoined life after being sick and ran out to get some free stix from Hotbox pizza and look what I saw!!!! A New DD is coming much closer to my house!! OH I was SO EXCITED!!!!!!  That afternoon I was working on getting all of my Christmas tubs brought inside from the shed, so I could decorate on the weekend. Then I had some cancellations and decided to start. I got the Piano room ...

Blue Monday!

Today's Festive Blue Monday outfit! I wore my tried and true trouser jeans, a short sleeved beaded top I got on clearance at Macy's of all places for 6 bucks!! And my awesome new jeweled flats! Sooo comfy and cute! Since it was in the 60's today I was able to get away with this warmer weather outfit! Beading on the top, I love it! Shoes, so ugly they are cute!!

Book Review: The Last Dance you Saved by LJ Evans

Buckle Up Buttercup, because Sadie Hatley is finally getting her story!!!! And it did not disappoint at all! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading for 1000 more pages.  L.J. Evans is a Masterclass in how to write Romantic Suspense (that's not so scary you can't sleep at night) with witty banter, heroines who kick butt (figuratively and literally). Her books are full of real people with real problems. And I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about her writing. Yes, her books are an escape for me, but they also show that whatever you're going through in life, everyone else is also going through something.  In the case of Sadie and Rafe alot of those issues they contained to themselves and kept the hurt and pain inside of them, in order to be strong for others and what they thought they needed to be. But L.J. shows us that not only is it okay to let people in, but the beauty and redemption that come...
