A frightful 4 degrees if you were wondering! 40+mph winds and gusting.. Windchill is -20.. Beautiful day really!! And lucky ol me, I got to go out in it! I had to work today, yes on a Sunday.
Today was winter commencement at Purdue, and we had our Commencement Reception for our CFS Grads. Since I was in charge of it I had to be there. Which wasn't a problem, but boy did I wish it was warmer outside!!!! The reception went well, people stayed and talked for longer than normal I am told. Probably because they didn't want to go out in the cold! I don't blame them!!
After that I went to Katie's to give her the boys Christmas Presents and her present. I got to make her day and that was totally fun. I didn't stay there for long as they looked pretty tired. I figured as long as I was out, shoot, why not go to Walmart and pick up my medicine and a few things I needed. So off to Walmart I went.
I swear that wind is so strong, if I lose anymore weight I am liable to be blown away!! Its crazy!! So I did my final Christmas shopping and came home and made my final presents and now I am DONE with Christmas shopping!! I just have to mail out Kim and Caca's Presents, and wrap the rest of mine when I get home Weds night and I am set! YAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Speaking of Caca, she is ENGAGED!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! I am sooo excited for her!! She texted me Saturday right after it happened. I was talking on the phone to Katie when I got her text, read it and started screaming!!! Poor Katie couldn't figure out what was going on. lol!! SO that totally made my weekend!
And for some other awesome news, my friends Ben and Janet, FINALLY got their adoption referral for their baby boy in Ethiopia!! They got to see his sweet little face!! They will hopefully have him by March! It is so exciting to see answers to prayer. I have been amazing watching God work in their lives and orchestrate them to be parents of this little boy who needs them. I absolutely cannot wait to see him and see this answer to prayer in person!!
SO there is alot to be thankful for this Christmas!
Personally I am thankful for my wonderful job. I can't imgaine being anywhere else, and wonder how I survived those two years at the temple of doom.... I am so blessed here with an awesome, understanding caring boss, and co workers who actually like me!! and treat me with RESPECT and kindness!! Its like a dream and I never want to wake up from it!
JESUS IS COOL!!
