What happens when I try to do a good deed..

So I tried to do a good deed on Friday but it only embarrassed me.

I was standing in line at Payless, purchasing my groceries. I was behind a little old African American lady who was in capri’s and some sad looking clothes.

She had 5 items that she was trying to purchase and after they were rang up, she had a can of food taken off because she couldn’t afford it.

She was counting out her change to purchase her items and it was so sad. I could just see my grandma in her, and then I realized she was someone’s grandma.

Before I knew what I was doing, I held my arm up and started walking around my cart, And said “I’d like to pay for her, can I pay for her?”

The cashier looked at me as if I had three heads and was speaking in an alien language..

My face turned bright red, but that didn’t deter me at all. I was going to do a good deed if it killed me!!

The cashier finally gathered her wits and said uh, well, uh, it looks like she has enough..

And sure enough the little old lady had counted out the 3.65 she needed for her food.

So I went back behind my cart feeling like a complete and utter fool. By this time the people in line behind me were staring at me as well.

I wanted to crawl into the ground.

But then right as the little old lady went to leave, she turned to me and said “Thank you honey” with the most beautiful smile, and I decided the humiliation was enough..

So I’ve decided I’m going to do this more often. It may embarrass me, but I think its worth it to make someone’s day and help them out, just a
little bit..

Cherry, that almost made me cry. Keep up the good deeds. I know I should be doing more.

This week was rather lackluster, because I came down with a sickness on Monday and was down for the count Monday and Tuesday. I was super annoyed, because I had not taken a sick day since May and I was really trying to make it to 2019 without that happening! Boo!  My new coffee maker came in the mail, and it is so cute! It's like a miniature coffee maker, only makes 4 cups. It's adorable.  My nephew's 4'th Birthday present came as well. And I was a little concerned at the size of the box. Thankfully it wasn't as large as it appeared, but still a decent size!  Wednesday I rejoined life after being sick and ran out to get some free stix from Hotbox pizza and look what I saw!!!! A New DD is coming much closer to my house!! OH I was SO EXCITED!!!!!!  That afternoon I was working on getting all of my Christmas tubs brought inside from the shed, so I could decorate on the weekend. Then I had some cancellations and decided to start. I got the Piano room ...

Today's Festive Blue Monday outfit! I wore my tried and true trouser jeans, a short sleeved beaded top I got on clearance at Macy's of all places for 6 bucks!! And my awesome new jeweled flats! Sooo comfy and cute! Since it was in the 60's today I was able to get away with this warmer weather outfit! Beading on the top, I love it! Shoes, so ugly they are cute!!

Book Review: The Last Dance you Saved by LJ Evans

Buckle Up Buttercup, because Sadie Hatley is finally getting her story!!!! And it did not disappoint at all! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading for 1000 more pages.  L.J. Evans is a Masterclass in how to write Romantic Suspense (that's not so scary you can't sleep at night) with witty banter, heroines who kick butt (figuratively and literally). Her books are full of real people with real problems. And I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about her writing. Yes, her books are an escape for me, but they also show that whatever you're going through in life, everyone else is also going through something.  In the case of Sadie and Rafe alot of those issues they contained to themselves and kept the hurt and pain inside of them, in order to be strong for others and what they thought they needed to be. But L.J. shows us that not only is it okay to let people in, but the beauty and redemption that come...
