A teachable moment? not so much...

It has come to my attention that I am not exactly the person to be teaching little kids things. I am beginning to rethink my plan of homeschooling my kids.

New Years Eve I spent with the bubbies and we watched several kiddie cartoons. We were watching the Backyardigans, ok side note, has anyone ever watched the Backyardigans? It was my first time and I STILL have robot on a rampage stuck in my head! To say their songs are repetitive would be a small statement. But what amused me was the choreographed boyband circa 1998 dance numbers they would do to their songs. It looked like a cheap cartoon version of backstreet boys! It amused me!

Ok anyways, so we're watching the Backyardigans and we are watching the episode the 50 ft Worman. So I decide to try and teach Joey how much 50 ft is. Great idea huh? Yeah it didn't go so well. MY Briliant idea to get him to understand how tall it was went alittle like this..

Hey Joe, do you know how big 50 ft is?

No.... How big?

You know how tall your Mommy is?

yeaaaaahhh..

well your mommy is like 5 ft.... so just think about putting 10 mommies on her head, one after the other and that would be 50 ft!!

*i sit proudly contemplating my brilliance*

long pause of silence from joe along with a very interesting look on his face.. finally..

they're all on her head?

yup, one on top of the other! and thats 50 ft!!

buut.. that would make her head get flat and break and go all the way to her toes! I think that would hurt mommy!!!

*silence from the 27 yr old*

Well.. Lets just tell Mommy not to let anyone stand on her head...

Yeah, and I'm not gonna let anyone stand on my head either because i don't want it to get flat and break and go down to my toes.. i would be sad and cry..

good plan joe.. good plan..

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t...

New Bedroom Decor!

Every Year my SIL outdoes herself with the gifts she gave us the year before. This year was no exception! She made this amazing picture for me. If you look close all of the pieces of the heart are small pictures of me and my friends! I was amazed! I still can't get over it! I just love it so much!  So I decided to hang it above my bed. I don't have a headboard and I have really felt like my room was lacking something to pull it together. I think this picture does it nicely! And yes, I sleep with a stuffed animal. I'm single, don't judge! I also sleep with 5 pillows. I tend to fall out of bed. They are like my bumpers! HA! Seriously though I just love it and it's so neat to look at all the pics of different friends and stages in my life and remember all of the fun memories! Thanks Liz!!
