Greetings Earthlings! (one of my friends had a date that always said Greetings but for the life of me I can't remember who it was??)
Anywho, I am coming to you from my bedroom in my new house!! YAY!! I am not all moved in, we moved the bed this afternoon so I could sleep here tonight and a few other items.
It FINALLY rained here in Indiana, torrential rains while I was at work, just when my parents went to get my bed from my old place. Dad got to take a nice snooze on the couch while my Mom worked at my old place and I sat at work worrying that my bed wouldn't get moved. The rains did stop and we got my bed moved and set up.
I'm enjoying my super fast internet and the quietness and stillness of my new place. If I had half a brain in my body I would be going to bed early preparing for the huge task of moving my stuff from my third floor apt in 100+ heat.
As you can see I'm still typing. Oh well.
I really didn't think this day would come, and despite counting down to it I have not been excited at all to move. Don't get me wrong I couldn't wait to get out of my old place but I have been so stressed about the move and the heat and everything that needed to be done that I wasn't finding any enjoyment in it. I'm not bouncing off the walls now, but I feel nice and calm and settled.
I really love my new place and I seem to have a really nice next door neighbor who actually helped us carry the bed upstairs and the rest of the stuff from the truck. Best news is that he is a professional and leaves for work by 6:30 am everyday. Hallelujah! No surround sound call of duty until 5 am each morning. Amen and Amen.
The a/c seems to be a little wonky. I think the thermostat is off as it was set at 70 and it's most definitely NOT 70. I turned it down to 60 in hopes of cooling the second floor so i can sleep well tonight. Currently it has cooled down to 78. I have a feeling I'll be calling the mait people tomorrow to have it looked at.
I did take my first shower here and I rather enjoyed it! Still don't know if the tub is long enough for me to have a bath, the struggles of being tall, but it's a nice good sized shower. I am loving having a bigger bathroom sink again. I was really cramped with the small one at my old place.
Mostly I'm just loving all of the space. I have tons and tons of space. It's nice not to feel so confined anymore. Especially with the past weeks having boxes all over my apt. I felt like the walls and boxes were closing in on me!
I hope to get a lot of unpacking done this weekend to where I don't have many boxes left, but even if I do I now have a spare bedroom/office. I will just shove them all in there and shut the door. :)
Pics and stories of the new place and our adventures moving on the hottest weekend of the year to be continued....
