A Friday Afternoon Drive??!

So this afternoon at 5 pm precisely, my Dad picked me up to take me home to my parents for the weekend, to save money on gas since he was in town.

He was in an adventerous mood so we or rather HE decided to take a brand new route home, that was sure to save us time, and get us to 231N without all the traffic.

Well, we are now home. And it only took and hour and 45 mins.

(normally an hour with Dad driving slow)

We got lost. And when I say Lost, I mean DEAD LOST. We did several circles, which after the first time we did it, it was flat out hilarious to me. SO I laughed. Dad didn't appreciate that too much.

I can now say that I have seen quite a bit of 700 (both directions!!) and Division Road was quite lovely. We saw lots of cool old houses, and new ones, and even what looked like a Mansion. It was HUGE!!

And seriously, who knew that Walnut trees were in such demand in Lafayette, Indiana? We saw hundreds of thousands of them. Not even kidding. It was confusing for awhile, because every stinking road we'd get on we would see another tree orchard from the same company, and I thought we were on the same road still!!

Finally after 45 mins of turning around and Dad going "Oh Crraaaaaappp" several times.. We found 231N. I am still laughing over it. Dad isn't but I am!!

When we got home, and got my bag out of the back of the truck I saw that he had two cans of Gas. I said "see Dad. we could have had an even greater adventure! with the extra cans and the full tank of gas, we could have went for hours!!!" He didn't appreciate that too much.

It was really nice though. For me at least it was really relaxing. We were in the country most of the time, and there were tons of non tree farm trees and i love seeing trees sway in the breeze. (thats one of the things i love doing at my parents is sitting out on the porch and watching the trees dance. it relaxes me more than anything) Dad and I actually talked which was so cool! I mean we talk, but he's kind of a quiet guy, so its usually me talking to him, but we actually had several conversations and it was just really nice. So despite the fact we got insanely lost, it was one of the most fun and funny times i have ever been lost.

Only two bad things. 1. I forgot to bring a bottle of water. I remembered Dad's shake I had gotten him, so he was all hydrated. Alittle too much actually! ;) but I was dead thirsty.. and 2. it is now sadly obvious to me that I am genetically screwed for direction. I always thought my lack of direction came from my Mom. But now I realized both of my parents blessed me with that.

Great..

Its time to get a map thingy in my truck!!!

JESUS IS COOL!!

This week was rather lackluster, because I came down with a sickness on Monday and was down for the count Monday and Tuesday. I was super annoyed, because I had not taken a sick day since May and I was really trying to make it to 2019 without that happening! Boo!  My new coffee maker came in the mail, and it is so cute! It's like a miniature coffee maker, only makes 4 cups. It's adorable.  My nephew's 4'th Birthday present came as well. And I was a little concerned at the size of the box. Thankfully it wasn't as large as it appeared, but still a decent size!  Wednesday I rejoined life after being sick and ran out to get some free stix from Hotbox pizza and look what I saw!!!! A New DD is coming much closer to my house!! OH I was SO EXCITED!!!!!!  That afternoon I was working on getting all of my Christmas tubs brought inside from the shed, so I could decorate on the weekend. Then I had some cancellations and decided to start. I got the Piano room ...

Blue Monday!

Today's Festive Blue Monday outfit! I wore my tried and true trouser jeans, a short sleeved beaded top I got on clearance at Macy's of all places for 6 bucks!! And my awesome new jeweled flats! Sooo comfy and cute! Since it was in the 60's today I was able to get away with this warmer weather outfit! Beading on the top, I love it! Shoes, so ugly they are cute!!

Book Review: The Last Dance you Saved by LJ Evans

Buckle Up Buttercup, because Sadie Hatley is finally getting her story!!!! And it did not disappoint at all! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading for 1000 more pages.  L.J. Evans is a Masterclass in how to write Romantic Suspense (that's not so scary you can't sleep at night) with witty banter, heroines who kick butt (figuratively and literally). Her books are full of real people with real problems. And I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about her writing. Yes, her books are an escape for me, but they also show that whatever you're going through in life, everyone else is also going through something.  In the case of Sadie and Rafe alot of those issues they contained to themselves and kept the hurt and pain inside of them, in order to be strong for others and what they thought they needed to be. But L.J. shows us that not only is it okay to let people in, but the beauty and redemption that come...
