Nothing New Under The Sun

Well I wish I had something extremely interesting or funny to post here, but the past week has been nice and quiet.

The Library has seen WAY too much of me, as has my couch. I am beginning to wonder if the reason my hip keeps going out is from me curled up on my couch every night! ooops!

I have been searching a for a good mystery/thriller author at the library. I really like Lisa Gardner's books and Lisa Scottoline.. (and no I don't just read books written by people named Lisa!) I found some suggested authors online and found a few of their books yesterday so I'm going to try them out. I have really gotten into reading lately I don't know why. I guess because nothing is on TV and I want something to do. With an apt its not really like I can hang outside and do stuff, and its been in the 90's anyway, so who wants to? So inside in my air conditioning I stay!

So I joined a Biggest Loser with some of my friends. Today was my first official day and I'm not doing so good! Someone suggested I need more protein to keep me powered up and I deinately think she was on to something. I had grapes for breakfast and crystal lite fruit punch and I was seriously hungry by 10:30. Of course I eat at 7 when I get to work so its no wonder!

I felt better after my sammy at lunch but then pizza was in the office.. and well.. i caved... sigh... not the greatest start but I am determined to go from FAT to FIT!! I found a scale that tracks your weight loss and is digital, so I think i'm going to pick that up. I have an old scale that isn't digital and i don't know if its my old contacts or the lines but i can't read it for the life of me! So ditital we go!!

I found my athletic shoes last night so I'm going to take a foray to the gym tonight. I know. Me+Gym=mind blowing! But I've got to do something to get with it! If Edge can do it and lose then so can I! Of course I don't have the winnings to motivate me like she does, but hey!

My parents are heading to Iowa this weekend to help my bro and sil roof their house. Thankfully they aren't in the massive flooding but it is around them and they have gotten alot of rain so the roofing desperately needs done. I know Dad will enjoy being with Kev and working with him so that will be nice. I always get nervous and worry when my parents travel places without me. Iowa is almost 5 hours away and I just worry about an accident or things that could happen to them and I wouldn't be around. Like I could prevent it if i was there! One of my co workers called me Mom today and it was funny because so many of my friends call me that. She said I was a worrywart and worried about everyone, which is true! I can't help it! Half the time I worry about people I don't even like that well, just because I don't want bad things to happen to them! Yes I am weird. Accept it.

JESUS IS COOL!!

Have you read Ted Dekker? His books are usually quite suspenseful with a surprise ending. Start with Thr3e - quite a shocking end. Even my dad who figures out books/movies right away was shocked. And don't cheat by reading the last page. :) I tend to do that and thankfully was listening to it on CD so I was totally shocked.

patricia Cornwell has some really good murder mystery books. They're very CSI, it revolves around the Chief medical examiner and a Cop and them solving murders, all sorts from serial killers etc. I LOVE her books. definately check them out if you can!

January Recap

Tap, Tap, Tap. Is this thing on? No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, I'm back blogging after almost a year of not posting anything. I did a month long Prayer and Fasting with my church and abstained from Social Media (more about that to come) and during that time I realized I really missed blogging! So here I am! Clearly I'm rusty at this because I managed to upload my pictures in the opposite order, and I'm too lazy to go through and move each and every one of them, so we are going to look back at the month of January from the end to the start! Let's go! The Last day of January was a busy one. Well for me at least, after spending most of 2022 on my parents couch, inbetween surgeries, doing anything is busy for me. I had a piano tuning for Old faithful, my new to me baby grand, so I hung out in my bedroom while my tuner was there, and worked on my laptop. Before that I had my 1 year Brow touch up with Marissa at Lafayette Microblading. It had actually been over a

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t

Frugal Friday- (Some) Tips and Tricks on how I get the most bang for my buck

(Shoutout to Ollies for the perfect Picture for this blog post) Remember when it was January and I said I was going to blog more this year? Well, it's now December, and I haven't blogged since January so clearly that goal went out the window.  BUT! I am here blogging today to share something I'm passionate about! And that is SAVING MONEY! And spending the least amount of money on things. Listen, the lower the price of something is, the more I like it.  I was waxing poetic about this subject to a friend on Marco Polo this week and decided that I felt the need to share it with the world. So, world, (or the three people who read my blog) You're Welcome. Sidenote: These are just some of the ways I stretch my dollars and get money back from purchases. Some of these have referral codes that if you join from them I get some sort of a reward, and some don't have codes, or I'm just not cool enough to know where to find them. Use the code, don't use the code, but plea
