Pink Weds

Some people have asked me what the meaning behind Pink Wednesday is aka Pink Weds so I thought I would share its story!

6 years ago when I started working in offices during college I just felt like I needed something to get me through the week, something to celebrate and mark a special day and just something to look forward to every week. So I started wearing Pink on Wednesdays, every Weds. And I have done it every Weds for the past 6 years! Every office I have worked at I have gotten people to participate and now at school we are getting our students involved. Starting this summer we're going to tell all of the classes about it and get as many people involved as we can. Its just a fun little thing to do.

Weds is really the roughest day of the week. You’re smack dab in the middle with no end in sight, but instead of looking at it as a bad thing, we celebrate Pink Weds. ( Did you know that Weds is actually the top day for suicides? Its a fact! ) Pink is a very uplifting color and brightens things up. And by celebrating it we focus on the fact that the week is almost done and we will make it through! Once you get through Weds its really a free fall into the weekend. It just really seems to cheer people up. And It really does seem to give people a sense of community. Its just a great fun thing to do!

So I encourage you as next Weds approaches, jump in on the Pink Weds love!

This week was rather lackluster, because I came down with a sickness on Monday and was down for the count Monday and Tuesday. I was super annoyed, because I had not taken a sick day since May and I was really trying to make it to 2019 without that happening! Boo!  My new coffee maker came in the mail, and it is so cute! It's like a miniature coffee maker, only makes 4 cups. It's adorable.  My nephew's 4'th Birthday present came as well. And I was a little concerned at the size of the box. Thankfully it wasn't as large as it appeared, but still a decent size!  Wednesday I rejoined life after being sick and ran out to get some free stix from Hotbox pizza and look what I saw!!!! A New DD is coming much closer to my house!! OH I was SO EXCITED!!!!!!  That afternoon I was working on getting all of my Christmas tubs brought inside from the shed, so I could decorate on the weekend. Then I had some cancellations and decided to start. I got the Piano room ...

Blue Monday!

Today's Festive Blue Monday outfit! I wore my tried and true trouser jeans, a short sleeved beaded top I got on clearance at Macy's of all places for 6 bucks!! And my awesome new jeweled flats! Sooo comfy and cute! Since it was in the 60's today I was able to get away with this warmer weather outfit! Beading on the top, I love it! Shoes, so ugly they are cute!!

Book Review: The Last Dance you Saved by LJ Evans

Buckle Up Buttercup, because Sadie Hatley is finally getting her story!!!! And it did not disappoint at all! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading for 1000 more pages.  L.J. Evans is a Masterclass in how to write Romantic Suspense (that's not so scary you can't sleep at night) with witty banter, heroines who kick butt (figuratively and literally). Her books are full of real people with real problems. And I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about her writing. Yes, her books are an escape for me, but they also show that whatever you're going through in life, everyone else is also going through something.  In the case of Sadie and Rafe alot of those issues they contained to themselves and kept the hurt and pain inside of them, in order to be strong for others and what they thought they needed to be. But L.J. shows us that not only is it okay to let people in, but the beauty and redemption that come...
