My Monday Afternoon/Evening

My Monday afternoon into evening was spent with several hundred of my closest friends in a hot, sweaty, hot, jammed, hot hallway. Did I mention it was hot?

About 4:40 right after Apes had left the tornado sirens went off. I am used to weird noises in our hallway and I assumed that the Resp Lab was doing work on their dummies. I peeked over my desk and saw that the lab was shut and dark. Hmm... And the the announcement came over the loud speaker to go to our safe spot. Mike Prangley would have been proud!!
So I got to spend over an hour with this long hallway of people. What cracked me up was how each dept and their students all stood together!! The funniest thing was that at 5:25, 10 mins after the tornado warning expired, I got one of our Text Alerts that I should seek shelter. Um.. really?

And as a tag line to this story, because this just made me laugh so hard that I want to preserve it here... Here is the emails that went back and forth this morning from my "Little Brother" Tyler and I. (p.s. he's getting married June 26!! stay tuned!!)

T-So, I got stuck in Ivy Hall for over an hour because of the tornadoes… didn’t even get to finish what I was on campus to do. I have to return to get my id badge…

C-I wondered if you were still here! I should have texted you to see! I was at the end of the hall by the grand hallway and merciful heavens was it HOTT!! I didn’t think things could get any worse until Yoder showed up and started bothering me. I was praying for the tornado to take me or the second coming!!! :)

T-I was down the hallway a little bit sitting with my neighbor from home. I did see Yoder walking up and down the hall and I’m very sorry I wasn’t around to be “all over you” to give him the hint. haha

C-Ewwww.. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit!!

T-Throw up every day when he makes “googly eyes” at you or be awkward for 5 minutes? Pick your poison…
C- Valid Point.

This week was rather lackluster, because I came down with a sickness on Monday and was down for the count Monday and Tuesday. I was super annoyed, because I had not taken a sick day since May and I was really trying to make it to 2019 without that happening! Boo!  My new coffee maker came in the mail, and it is so cute! It's like a miniature coffee maker, only makes 4 cups. It's adorable.  My nephew's 4'th Birthday present came as well. And I was a little concerned at the size of the box. Thankfully it wasn't as large as it appeared, but still a decent size!  Wednesday I rejoined life after being sick and ran out to get some free stix from Hotbox pizza and look what I saw!!!! A New DD is coming much closer to my house!! OH I was SO EXCITED!!!!!!  That afternoon I was working on getting all of my Christmas tubs brought inside from the shed, so I could decorate on the weekend. Then I had some cancellations and decided to start. I got the Piano room ...

Blue Monday!

Today's Festive Blue Monday outfit! I wore my tried and true trouser jeans, a short sleeved beaded top I got on clearance at Macy's of all places for 6 bucks!! And my awesome new jeweled flats! Sooo comfy and cute! Since it was in the 60's today I was able to get away with this warmer weather outfit! Beading on the top, I love it! Shoes, so ugly they are cute!!

Book Review: The Last Dance you Saved by LJ Evans

Buckle Up Buttercup, because Sadie Hatley is finally getting her story!!!! And it did not disappoint at all! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading for 1000 more pages.  L.J. Evans is a Masterclass in how to write Romantic Suspense (that's not so scary you can't sleep at night) with witty banter, heroines who kick butt (figuratively and literally). Her books are full of real people with real problems. And I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about her writing. Yes, her books are an escape for me, but they also show that whatever you're going through in life, everyone else is also going through something.  In the case of Sadie and Rafe alot of those issues they contained to themselves and kept the hurt and pain inside of them, in order to be strong for others and what they thought they needed to be. But L.J. shows us that not only is it okay to let people in, but the beauty and redemption that come...
