Mid Week Confessions

I strongly dislike wearing socks. Even when I need to in the winter. I can count on one hand the number of days I have worn socks  or even worse, trouser socks, to work this winter. I have a rule that if at some point in the day it will be over 28 degrees then it is OK to not wear socks. Minor detail if my feet get really cold. That's what under the desk heaters were made for. Right?

To go along with my hatred of socks, I also don't like my feet being caught up in the covers of my bed. I feel.. constricted.  Like I'm being bound and attacked. So I fold my covers down to the end of my bed, and then sleep with an afghan on top of me. If it's really REALLY cold I will stick my feet just under the covers, but not very much.

I've needed to take my trash out since last week and yet here it still sits in my kitchen.

I went to the Dentist this week for a teeth cleaning and had no cavities. I rewarded myself with a Coke...

My husband does the SAME THING with the covers! I will always laugh at him...but to me, the more layers the better! So I get all the sheets pushed to me, and he uses an afghan!

I also have feet/socks/shoe issues! I drive home barefoot because after a day of wearing shoes, I just can't take it anymore.

Oh I am right there with you...I feel like a kindred spirit.

I grew up in Hawaii and had never worn real shoes until I was 7 and in the dead of winter in Washington. I still prefer to wear flip-flops every day of my life and my husband thinks I'm nuts.

We got about 8 inches of in the last two days...and while trash day was on Tuesday, they did not come. Which means....my trash can is still sitting out front, and I have no desire to bring it back in! :)

This week was rather lackluster, because I came down with a sickness on Monday and was down for the count Monday and Tuesday. I was super annoyed, because I had not taken a sick day since May and I was really trying to make it to 2019 without that happening! Boo!  My new coffee maker came in the mail, and it is so cute! It's like a miniature coffee maker, only makes 4 cups. It's adorable.  My nephew's 4'th Birthday present came as well. And I was a little concerned at the size of the box. Thankfully it wasn't as large as it appeared, but still a decent size!  Wednesday I rejoined life after being sick and ran out to get some free stix from Hotbox pizza and look what I saw!!!! A New DD is coming much closer to my house!! OH I was SO EXCITED!!!!!!  That afternoon I was working on getting all of my Christmas tubs brought inside from the shed, so I could decorate on the weekend. Then I had some cancellations and decided to start. I got the Piano room ...

Blue Monday!

Today's Festive Blue Monday outfit! I wore my tried and true trouser jeans, a short sleeved beaded top I got on clearance at Macy's of all places for 6 bucks!! And my awesome new jeweled flats! Sooo comfy and cute! Since it was in the 60's today I was able to get away with this warmer weather outfit! Beading on the top, I love it! Shoes, so ugly they are cute!!

Book Review: The Last Dance you Saved by LJ Evans

Buckle Up Buttercup, because Sadie Hatley is finally getting her story!!!! And it did not disappoint at all! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading for 1000 more pages.  L.J. Evans is a Masterclass in how to write Romantic Suspense (that's not so scary you can't sleep at night) with witty banter, heroines who kick butt (figuratively and literally). Her books are full of real people with real problems. And I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about her writing. Yes, her books are an escape for me, but they also show that whatever you're going through in life, everyone else is also going through something.  In the case of Sadie and Rafe alot of those issues they contained to themselves and kept the hurt and pain inside of them, in order to be strong for others and what they thought they needed to be. But L.J. shows us that not only is it okay to let people in, but the beauty and redemption that come...
