Not the Monday I'd planned.....

So it's been a GREAT Weekend and Monday around these parts. Sunday I had the stomach flu. I woke up this morning actually feeling better. That is, until I tried to open my eyes. Only one eye opened.

Backing up, Thursday my eyes had really itched but it was so warm here I thought my allergies were kicking in. So I started taking Benadryl on top of my normal allergy medicine. Friday I woke up and my eye was swollen (no where near the picture above though) and itchy. I cancelled my hair apt and spent the day putting ice on it. By Stomach flu Sunday my eye was feeling better, albeit still itchy and somewhat swollen. I spent the night putting cold compresses on it everytime I woke up so it would look good for work.
And then I woke up to this.

I about freaked out! Some of you may remember my last Eye Swelled Shut Dr Visit a few years ago when I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. However this time I had no rash or hives. Thankfully my dr's office has an online portal where you can send messages and schedule apts. I logged on at 6:30 am and got their one and only apt for the day.

Long story short I have an eye infection and a stye on the inside of my eyelid. Ye owch. Trust me, it's as painful as it sounds. He put me on a 4 time per day antibiotic and ordered me to quit the cold compress (apparently it's not good for them, whoops) and put a hot one on instead. So i've spent my day popping antibiotics and covering my eye. While dealing with the ridiculous stabbing pain it's causing me. I can't tell you how much I would have rather been at work. Thankfully this afternoon the swelling has subsided enough to where i have my eye open and dont' look like a total freak. It's less than attractive though, and until it heals i am stuck wearing glasses and no makeup. Hottness.

This is My Love Story

In the predawn hours of New Years Day 2004 I was faced with a choice. After spending New Year's Eve at a local bar with a friend, I came home and through the events that transpired, I saw clearly a vision of my future. What would happen to me if I continued on the path I had been taking. I had a choice to make and within a split second I knew what my answer was going to be. I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved at an early age. When I was 13/14 on my Birthday Sunday, Pastor Martin preached a sermon about those of us who had been saved at an early age and knowing if your salvation was real or not. I spent the rest of the day and my party tormented because I could not remember what was in my heart when I was younger. That night I gave my life to Christ and knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was his, and going to Heaven. In the years that followed I continued to be very active in church. I played the Piano and was in charge of Sunday night offertory, I was t...

New Bedroom Decor!

Every Year my SIL outdoes herself with the gifts she gave us the year before. This year was no exception! She made this amazing picture for me. If you look close all of the pieces of the heart are small pictures of me and my friends! I was amazed! I still can't get over it! I just love it so much!  So I decided to hang it above my bed. I don't have a headboard and I have really felt like my room was lacking something to pull it together. I think this picture does it nicely! And yes, I sleep with a stuffed animal. I'm single, don't judge! I also sleep with 5 pillows. I tend to fall out of bed. They are like my bumpers! HA! Seriously though I just love it and it's so neat to look at all the pics of different friends and stages in my life and remember all of the fun memories! Thanks Liz!!
