Elementary Talent Shows Rock!

So I have some catching up to do on the blog, but I figured I might as well start with the most recent event and work my way backward! Stay tuned for more posts!(Hopefully!)

Friday afternoon I got to do something new and totally fun! One of my students was playing in her Elementary Talent show, and I happened to have that block of time free, so I went to watch her! I had never been in an Elementary school before! I was homeschooled, so obviously I didn't go to school in one. It was really interesting! And very brightly colored :)
My student has a new baby sister, baby Angel. I was SO excited to get to meet her. She was a preemie and got out of the NICU recently, so I hadn't met her yet! You wouldn't guess she was a preemie by those CHEEKS. But she was born on late Dec, weighing under two pounds. Her due date was I believe a week or two ago! Crazy! She was the sweetest little thing and slept thru most of the talent show.
So I really didn't know what to expect in terms of talent but I was pleasantly surprised! My favorite act, other than my student of course! Was the opening act with an entire kinder class dancing to a 50's song. they were dressed up in poodle skirts for the girls and t shirts and jeans for the boys and it was the cutest and funniest thing ever!!
I wish i had gotten a video of it, but at the end they all exited the stage in pairs of three, and the boys would run and then slide on their knees! It was AWESOME!!!

And lucky lucky me! Miss Angel got fussy right when her twin big brothers were getting done with the show, so that meant I got to save her from her car seat and hold her! She calmed down very fast after I did my patented Rock, Bounce, Pat. And I got in a leg workout :)
The Star of the show!!!! Miss J did AMAZING! Not one wrong note in the entire song! I was SO SO PROUD OF HER!!!! I don't know how many kids were there but it felt like millions. They filled up all of the bleachers and sat on the ground. Scary for sure! But she played like a pro!!
 Love that silly girl!!

Is it weird that I was excited to get a visitors sticker? ha! It was so much fun!! Best reason ever to get up earlier than normal on a Friday!

This week was rather lackluster, because I came down with a sickness on Monday and was down for the count Monday and Tuesday. I was super annoyed, because I had not taken a sick day since May and I was really trying to make it to 2019 without that happening! Boo!  My new coffee maker came in the mail, and it is so cute! It's like a miniature coffee maker, only makes 4 cups. It's adorable.  My nephew's 4'th Birthday present came as well. And I was a little concerned at the size of the box. Thankfully it wasn't as large as it appeared, but still a decent size!  Wednesday I rejoined life after being sick and ran out to get some free stix from Hotbox pizza and look what I saw!!!! A New DD is coming much closer to my house!! OH I was SO EXCITED!!!!!!  That afternoon I was working on getting all of my Christmas tubs brought inside from the shed, so I could decorate on the weekend. Then I had some cancellations and decided to start. I got the Piano room ...

Blue Monday!

Today's Festive Blue Monday outfit! I wore my tried and true trouser jeans, a short sleeved beaded top I got on clearance at Macy's of all places for 6 bucks!! And my awesome new jeweled flats! Sooo comfy and cute! Since it was in the 60's today I was able to get away with this warmer weather outfit! Beading on the top, I love it! Shoes, so ugly they are cute!!

Book Review: The Last Dance you Saved by LJ Evans

Buckle Up Buttercup, because Sadie Hatley is finally getting her story!!!! And it did not disappoint at all! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it ended. I could have kept reading for 1000 more pages.  L.J. Evans is a Masterclass in how to write Romantic Suspense (that's not so scary you can't sleep at night) with witty banter, heroines who kick butt (figuratively and literally). Her books are full of real people with real problems. And I think that's one of the things I appreciate the most about her writing. Yes, her books are an escape for me, but they also show that whatever you're going through in life, everyone else is also going through something.  In the case of Sadie and Rafe alot of those issues they contained to themselves and kept the hurt and pain inside of them, in order to be strong for others and what they thought they needed to be. But L.J. shows us that not only is it okay to let people in, but the beauty and redemption that come...
