So an EMBARASSINGLY long time ago an Author named Lexi Eddings emailed me and asked if I would be willing to review a new book that she had written. I never EVER turn down a free book, so I of course said yes! The Book arrived, I was excited, I put it on my shelf, and forgot about it! ACKS!!
I'm going to go with better late than never and share with you my thoughts on the book! Thanks again Lexi for sharing this book with me in exchange for my honest opinion.
Coldwater Warm Hearts Club
by Lexi Eddings
In the beginning I wasn't sure how I was going to like the book as the main character, Lacy Evans, was very self focused. Through the book her faith grew and she became much more concerned and aware of others. I was glad to see the change and see how she became more compassionate towards her Mom.
Lacy had not knows the circumstances of her Mom's childhood and had problems with her Mom's collecting of stuff and being unable to get rid of things. Things that Lacy considered useless. Lacy wanted her Mom to accept her and how she was not a cluttered person but a clean, streamlined not a lot of baggage to take along person.
After finding out how poor her Mom had been when growing up the Lord opened Lacy's eyes to why her Mom collected and kept so much. That understanding helped her to appreciate what her Mom had went through and to treat her Mom better. To not push her Mom to get rid of stuff.
Was nice to see her love interest grow with a really nice guy who had lost part of his leg in a bomb while serving in Afghanistan. We all need to appreciate our Vets more and realize what serious things they have went through and that they may have problems dealing with life after going through so much.
Through God's grace and love we all can deal with the things life throws at us and seeing the characters in this book grow and mature and seek God's help was encouraging to me in my daily walk. We can have a deeper appreciation for others and for what God has blessed us with. If we want others to accept us for what we are and how we choose to live our lives we need to be accepting of them also.
