50/52

Well I started off last week with sickness. So we join in the week on Weds, my next to last day of teaching! Christmas party in your lesson week was still happening for some students who couldn't come the week before so I busted out my antlers again!  Thursday I was feeling tired, and I had a ton of errands to run before teaching so I loaded up with a big ol mason jar of coffee.  I had to go get a frame for this AMAZING painting that one of my students Dad's made for me! That is Audra and her family in front of their old house when they sold it. It was her birthday gift.  Last day of lessons called for a festive headband! I snapped this in the middle of the afternoon when I was down to 4!! students!   I also got cozy, because I had had a rough day. Break was never needed more!  This is random but oh my word these chicken tenders are SO good! I got them at Target and now I need to buy more. It's a rare chicken ten...

Monday started off my FAVORITE Week of the year!! Christmas Party in Your Lesson Week!  Yes, I know it's a snazzy name, try not to be jealous. Each student plays their favorite songs they have learned this year, I give their gifts to them and their boxes of treats. This year the treats were PB Fudge, Chocolate Oreos covered in chocolate and sprinkles. Golden Oreos covered in Vanilla Bark and Sprinkles, Sugar Cookies with Peppermint frosting, And cupcakes, and mini cupcakes with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Icing! And a Teacher in Reindeer Antlers. Because WHY NOT!!    Wednesday morning was a busy one for my first weds without bible study. First I headed off to my Allergists Office for my 6 month check up. All was well and I was in and out quickly! After that I had a special super secret mission! Which Is no longer a secret, hence why I'm posting about it!  After our recital a few weeks ago a Piano Mom contacted me about wa...

48/52

Well here I am almost two weeks later wrapping up week 48 Better late than never?! The week started off with more treats making for the following week's Christmas Party in your lesson week.   Tuesday was Concert #3 in the span of 3 weeks. It also was the day where it went from abnormally warm to really chilly, because of course.  That night I was back at Mulberry, this time playing for their Christmas dinner for all the families. It was BEAUTIFUL!! I wish I had taken a picture of the tables, they had fresh greens and berries and candles. So pretty!  And at the very end this guy showed up! One of these years I will not look bald with Santa. It was super windy this day and no one wants their hair on their face when they are playing the piano for 90 minutes straight.  I came home and had my dinner of mcdonalds. And they gave me the wrong sandwich. Sniffles....  The next morning was our last women's bible study for the year!...

Book Review: An Inconvenient Beauty By Kristi Ann Hunter

This year Kristi Ann Hunter has become one of my very favorite authors. She writes Regency England Romances, that have comedy in them, and completely relatable characters despite being so far away from the time period! This is the last book (SOB) of the Hawthorne Series, and unlike other Authors and Book Series you can jump in reading any book in this series and not be confused or wondering who is who and what is happening! This book focuses on Griffin, who is the oldest brother of the Hawthorne clan. He is very by the book and has a plan for everything, very type A, methodical, list maker and carry-out-er. (Is that a word? I just made it one!) So of course being the in charge, planner that he is, it's only appropriate that he would approach love and finding a wife in the same manner. As you can expect life, and love, don't exactly work that way. Although it takes Griffin a good long while to figure that out. Its humorous for the readers as he bumbles on his carefully p...

Book Review: "Too Far Down" By Mary Connealy

Too Far Down is Book Three of the Cimarron Legacy series. And I really wish I knew that before I requested the book to review.  When I was reading the back of the book to see what it was about I could tell I was going to be in trouble when it was referencing things from previous books. And I was right. Mary Connealy writes western fiction with humor, and sometimes, like this book, a hint of danger. I really enjoy her writing, but I would have enjoyed this book MUCH more if I had read the two previous books in the series. I felt like I was constantly trying to keep up with characters, figure out who people were, and what their stories were, that I had missed out on in the two previous books. I think I will try to see if my library has the other books, read them, and then read this book again so I can fully appreciate it without such a struggle to figure out what is going on. Thanks to Bethany House for providing me with a copy for free in exchange for my honest review !...

47/52

Last Monday dawned with Terror in my heart. We were ONE DAY AWAY from the Christmas Recital!! ACK!!!! I went out and got Shot #1 of my new batch of Allergy shots. When your vials run out they mix up a new batch and apparently since it is fresher it is stronger. So they bump you down a bit on the dosage so as to not send you into anaphylactic shock, so you have three shots in about a week's time frame to get back up to your normal dosage.  Tuesday they day was finally FINALLY here!!!!! I put on my new dress and new vest and wished to high heavens that it wasn't so warm outside. Nursing Homes are toasty y'all. even more so when it's warm outside.  I'm happy to say we all survived the Christmas recital. hahahah although nervous Miss Charity did almost fall of her chair a few times. I was sitting on the edge of my seat and "playing" the song right along with my students, (in my head of course, i'm not that crazy) but they all did great and ...
