What's Up Wednesday!

It has been a hot minute since I have joined in on a What's Up Wednesday. Here's hoping I get this post finished ON Wednesday! What I'm eating this week: Tuesday I treated myself to Buck Creek Pizza. SO SO SO GOOD!  I'll probably have the leftovers today, and then Thursday it's lunch at the fair! Lemon Shake up and BBQ pulled pork sandwich. YUMMY!!!! What I'm reminiscing about: My FB memories feed has been full of fair pictures. Lots of pics of me visiting Audra at the fair for free sunglasses and of course a lemon shake up! What I'm Loving: Being done at 3:30 pm on Thursdays!! What I've been up to: Yesterday I went to the nursing home that I frequent and played a concert for them. Other than that just working, and working on cleaning and organizing some parts of my house. What I'm dreading: The return of fall schedule. I have loved not teaching late into the evening this summer. Thursdays I h...

Last Monday I woke up earlier than my alarm clock, and before I hopped in the shower i just happened to open the blinds to the backyard and what did i see?  TWO Raccoons.  The mystery of what has been getting into my trash bins is now solved. Sigh..  That afternoon by some sort of a miracle I was done teaching by 2:30. I had not seen Jboz in what seemed like forever and was in desperate need of girl talk and some Kohen cuddle time. This picture cracks me up, he looks like Elvis with that little lip curl!!  It took a LOT of attempts to get this picture. Things like kitchen lights are super fascinating and hard to tear your eyes away from. Also, he looks started and scared, but he isn't. That is just his face. :)  This was right before he demanded his bottle, and then fell asleep as soon as he started eating. Sweet baby.  I have been experimenting with my pizza recipes. This time I made a Chicken Tomato Ranch p...

That awkward moment when you think you blogged but really just uploaded the pictures. Whoops. I'm going to try and remember this week, as it feels like it was ages ago! That Monday a book I was sent to review by one of my fave authors finally arrived. Right before I had to teach. Oh the struggle!! All I wanted to do was read but alas Adulting. In more Adulting DG finally had the updated planners out. I was glad they did as I had things to write down for August! This is a 2.00 planner that I am on year 3 of purchasing. I love that it has spots for every day because I have to write out the times and names of students to know who is coming when. On that Thursday I had to get my allergy shot, and then had a little bit of time between that and my chiro apt. So I decided to stop at Sonic for a cherry limeade. I just missed happy hour which was a crying shame. But the Cherry limeade was still delicious!! And of course since I was at the chiro I had to take a picture w...

Sliding in on a little recap of last week. On Monday I was feeling tired by mid afternoon and still had several students to go. So I had a cherry coke and revelled in the knowledge that I had the next two days off and could have caffeine in the middle of the afternoon and not have to worry about when I fell asleep!   I have ZERO pictures from the 4'th of July because I spent them in comfy clothes inside in the air conditioning! It was the first two consecutive days I have had off with no plans, nowhere to be, and no one to wait on to arrive at my home. And it. was. GLORIOUS.  My days are very scheduled, I keep one eye on the piano and one eye on the clock during each lesson, not to mention waiting on people to show up, and making sure they leave on time. So to not have to look at a clock or have to wait on anyone or go anywhere was wonderful! It surprises some people, but I really am an introvert. I will be chatty and friendly when I'm with people, bu...

Well! What a week last week was! I failed at taking pictures except for really one day, but you will understand why soon! And I got the most important day, so you know.. priorities.. Tuesday I was up and awake early, even before my alarm went off.  It was my day to head to a local nursing home that I play at, but even more exciting than that, it was the day my bestie was going to have her baby! I knew what time she had to be at the hospital, but other than that I really don't have much knowledge of c sections, or how long they take. None of my other friends have had that kind of birth, so I'm fairly well acquainted with the other process, not so much the c section process. I assumed it would be speedier. I. was. wrong. Y'all.. When we had passed the 4 hour mark I got NERVOUS. My hands were shaking, and I was just starting to have all the fears. I sat in front of my laptop and kept hitting refresh on her husband's fb page ever...

Book Review: Justice Betrayed by Patricia Bradley

Justice Betrayed pulled me in from the first chapter. This book is a continuation of her cold case series.  This book focuses on Detective  Rachel Sloan that we met in the previous book. As well as Lt. Boone Callahan. They used to date, but broke up and now work together in the homicide division. Boone is determined to win Rachel back, and she is as determined as he is to NOT fall for him again.  I think we all can see where this is headed. But it was entertaining to be along for the ride! As is the way for these books it goes between two mysteries, one in present day, and one in the past. The present day mystery is several Elvis TRIBUTE ARTISTS, Not impersonators mind you, are being murdered. The cold case mystery is Rachel's Mother whom was murdered several years ago. It delves into Rachel's feelings of what happened that night and the guilt that she has carried with her for years. Are these two mysteries connected? Well, You will just have to read the book to...
