Tuesday Tidbits

Well the picture that I *REALLY* wanted to blog won't send from my phone, so stay tuned for my piece of crap 1994 phone to work so I can show you the most disturbing thing I've seen lately. This post is just a mish mash of not very exciting things, but I really wanted to blog more this year and here it's not even February and I'm failing miserably!  The above picture is my new shelf I scored at CVS of all places on an after Christmas sale. I decorated it with a picture frame my mom made of my initial, a small candle, and a sweet picture of my parents. It hangs right by the door so I have my keys there as well. And a seasonal snowman. I need to put my snowmen up and find something else to put out but I don't know what?  A few weeks ago I met up with Emboz and Madi for a Pink Weds Ladies who Lunch at Chilis. It was super duper good. Madi is such a mess. Love that kid and her mullet. Emboz and I shared this chocolate molten cake ice cream thingamajig an...

Not the Monday I'd planned.....

So it's been a GREAT Weekend and Monday around these parts. Sunday I had the stomach flu. I woke up this morning actually feeling better. That is, until I tried to open my eyes. Only one eye opened. Backing up, Thursday my eyes had really itched but it was so warm here I thought my allergies were kicking in. So I started taking Benadryl on top of my normal allergy medicine. Friday I woke up and my eye was swollen (no where near the picture above though) and itchy. I cancelled my hair apt and spent the day putting ice on it. By Stomach flu Sunday my eye was feeling better, albeit still itchy and somewhat swollen. I spent the night putting cold compresses on it everytime I woke up so it would look good for work. And then I woke up to this. I about freaked out! Some of you may remember my last Eye Swelled Shut Dr Visit  a few years ago when I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. However this time I had no rash or hives. Thankfully my dr's office has an online ...

Living room and Control Issues

Well it's a New Year and I have been busy cleaning, organizing and decorating my living room! My Mom made the above Love sign. I think it's really cute! My SIL gave me the Peacock picture to match my curtains. As well as the super cool pillows! I'm currently on a pillow hunt to find two more for my big couch. I also got one of my lamps for Christmas!! I was sooo excited! Look how perfectly they match my curtains!! I'm hoping Gordman's has one more of them so I can have matching ones. Apparently these were a hot item in Iowa! This week i'm fully back into my normal teaching schedule. I'm also starting two new students this week bringing me up to 23 students total! Still have some open slots left that I'm hoping to fill. I'm so in awe of how God has provided! I can't believe I have 23 students! It's seriously the most fun I've ever had!  I was thinking today about how God has knit together this season of my life and everything about it. I ...

Christmas with Snugglemuffin! Pt 1

Snugglemuffin made his long awaited trip to In to see his Nana, Pa, and Cherry for Christmas! We were sooooo excited to see him! Here are the three Hendress Men!  He gave us all hugs and kisses when he arrived. It was sooo precious! I love this pic of my Dad hugging him!!  After hugs it was down to business. Taking his favorite train, he has loved this thing since he was a little itty bitty, and he excavator, which he can pronounce! to Nana's kitchen to play on the floor. He loves playing on her kitchen floor! I'm guessing partially because she gives him food! But he does it when she doesn't feed him as well.  Perfect representation. B is opening all of the presents, and Mom is putting together his power tool that he just opened. Notice Eeyore is right by his side.  He got a tent that you blow up and fill with balls. Think twice before you purchase something like this because 1. it has to get blown up somehow. using a hand sweeper does not work. ...
