21/52- Also known as my 1300'th Post!

Last Monday started off with a trip to Walmart (which rarely ever happens!, I am an Aldi's girl, but they are working on the road in front of Aldi's so it's really hard to get to!) for some groceries and some baking items I needed for something I'll share about later in this post! While I was in the Cheese Aisle, I heard someone say MISS CHARITY!! I whipped my head around, trying to figure out who it was and where they were and saw one of my Monday Students Grandma, Mimi, as they call her! It was a fun little surprise to see her there! I came back home, unloaded and prepared for battle. Or so it felt. I usually have a dinner break between groups of students on Mondays, but by a scheduling change of my niceness, I didn't. So I taught all 6 of my lessons back to back. I felt like I was preparing to go to War! Or Run a marathon! HA! I hydrated, ate some before I started so I wouldn't have a low blood sugar moment, and powered through. It really wasn't bad, ...

Book Review: What Hope Remembers by Johnnie Alexander

Well it's Officially Summer Reading Program time, so I will be reading like a doggone fool until July 31'st, in hopes of winning more awesome prizes from my Library again this year! Today we're going to talk about What Hope Remembers, by Johnnie Alexander. This is Book Three in her "Misty Willows" series, and while I have not read any of the previous books (or any of her other books!) I found that I was able to follow along easily without reading the previous books. She did a good job of introducing the characters that had already been in the books,And summarizing it quickly and easily, which I liked! I did think that the pace of the book was kind of slow. It took me awhile to really get into it, and sink my teeth it. I would have liked things to move along quicker, and perhaps have less descriptive parts, and less of the characters thinking in their heads, between dialogue.  I did like that she wrote characters that were flawed, and actually ha...

Book Review: Behind the Scenes by Jen Turano

Behind the Scenes by Jen Turano This was a rather long book and I enjoyed it more then I thought I would. The main character Permilia Griswold was fun to read about. She was very interesting and was strong in faith. She wanted to do what was right and help others. Her step mother and step sister were not very nice and yet Permilia had a good attitude about things and didn't let how they treated her stop her from doing the right things. Permelia's Dad should of been paying more attention to how his daughter was treated and also not agreed to not have anything to do with how his step daughter was raised. She was horrible with throwing tantrums along with items. She needed to grow up and act decent. Was happy that Permelia found a man who could love her for who she was and not for who society wanted her to be. They made a great couple and I enjoyed reading about their relationship and how it progressed. There was plenty of humorous things in the book wh...

20/52

Last week I kind of fell apart in the picture taking category. I don't know what I did on Monday, other than teach, because there are no pictures of it! I did take pictures of under my hood to send to my Dad, for him to show me where to hook up my a/c. And it was already hooked up! So that was a win!  I do Mturk on the side, and last week, and the week before I had daily special surveys for two different research people. One of them was taking a picture inside my truck at the end of the day with a special letter and the date. Don't ask me what they are researching, but they paid me 1.00 for each day!! :) Tuesday was time for me to visit my friends in the Alzheimer's Wing at Mulberry! I always look forward to my visits, playing for the residents and chatting with them! Last time one of them wanted me to play "Harder" Songs :), so I delivered and she was happy! My arms were sore after that hour concert though!! I also learned the hard way that their...

19/52

Another week down and it seems to be Officially Summer around here. I had to turn my a/c on today because I was HOT!! but let's back up to last week shall we? Monday evening I got done with lessons and after going to the library I came back home and walked some laps in my backyard. I am too chicken to walk alone around my neighborhood. (Someone might kidnap me!!) And I have a large back yard, so I put my ear buds in and walked away!!  It was beautiful and I forgot about how hilly my backyard is, so my legs got a workout!  After I walked a few songs I did my own version of yoga? pilates? I don't know. I can just tell you my legs were burning!  Monday was a happy mail day because one of my VERY FAVORITE authors, has a new book in her series and it arrived for me to review! Not going to lie I finished it in less than 24 hours and it was 400 some pages long. Stay tuned for a review!!  Weds my eyes were super itchy, and I just had to go with glass...
