30/52

Monday was my first Monday working since I got sick with the ear mess. I had to drink coffee at my break around 3:30 because I was SO.TIRED. I barely made it thru the day awake and by the time the last student left at 7:30 I collapsed on the couch and pretty much didn't move the rest of the evening! Tuesday was my day to go visit my friends at the nursing home.. I wore a sleeveless top and knee length skirt and sandals, and packed a fan just in case. But when I made my way to the 100 Wing I was pleasantly shocked to find... AIR CONDIDTIONING! Y'all I can't tell you how excited I was! It's usually super hot in there, since the bay window area isn't used all day and the residents are colder natured, so to feel that AC on full blast was amazing! Especially since I still had a fever from my ear ( Don't worry, not anything I could pass on to the residents, unless they were inside my ear with my ear tube ;) ) I took this at the end, and one lady...

Book Review: A Matter of Trust by Susan May Warren

I love Susan May Warrens Books. The Deep Haven series is a favorite of mine. I have read the previous books in this series and devoured them, but for some reason I really had a hard time getting into this book. I would pick it up. Read a little bit. Set it down, and repeat. That's not my reading style! Usually I pick a book up and read it as much as I can until I have finished it. But I just had a hard time getting fully immersed in this story. I think part of the issue is that there was a lot of carry over from the previous books. (This book is the Third in her Montana Rescue Series) I struggled remembering each couple and their issues, and the mystery(s) that had went through all of the series. I really like it when story lines are wrapped up in one book, and not carried all the way through. I'm guessing she wanted to build interest and make sure people kept coming back for more, but for me, I would have preferred that each story line was wrapped up in one book. Its jus...

Wellllll...... another less than stellar week to recap!  Last week I was still very sick with my ear. I took Monday off of work and spent it on the couch, half deaf, alertnating between hot and cold. I have been running a low grade fever now for 13 days. Yes, as I write this on the 27'th I am STILL sick. thankfully less sick than I was, but still. No pictures from Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday I was back to work, still half deaf. I went to my Dr's that afternoon, and he confirmed that I needed to see my ENT asap. My Swimmer's Ear was better, but now my ear drum is super red. He attempted to call my ENT and they were closed for the day. I had been calling since MONDAY and never got a live person or a return call. Finally, on FRIDAY, I found out they were on vacation. Way to have a vacation voicemail...... I was very frustrated at that point.  After seeing Dr C, coming home and teaching another lesson, I went to go pick up my new antibiotic and ear drops antibiotic/...

Book Review: Heart on the Line by Karen Witemeyer

If you're rushed for time, let give you the highlights. This book was great and Karen Witemeyer has been added to my favorite author list! In fact, In the time since reading this book, I have checked out every single Karen Witemeyer book my library and online library has to offer. Yes, she is that good! This book is in a series on the ladies of Harper's Station. However it is not the first book in the series, even though I hadn't read the first book when I read Heart on the Line, it was very easy to jump in, and I was not at all confused on the characters or what was going on! I love that her characters are multi layered, and NOT PERFECT! I love a good love story, possibly more than the normal person, but generally the heroine's are always kind of the same. Not so in Karen's books. Each Heroine has a very distinct personality and very REAL flaws. In fact, even the love interests have flaws! So often we think of our perfect guy as just that, and ...

This past week's recap might possibly be the least amount of pictures ever in a recap and as you read it, you'll see why! Monday was another busy day. Here is a Piano Teacher before teaching 9 students (all but one back to back)  And here is a VERY tired teacher 9 students later. Mercy. I was exhausted!  Wednesday I had a massage first thing in the am, per the usual. And ran into a student/friend of mine there, getting her first free massage on her birthday! Whoo Hoo!!  That morning before I headed to my massage I noticed that my ear felt fluidy. Which is rare since i have ear tubes. My left ear, has a tube that is not in my ear drum anymore. It's moved out, but hasn't pushed out of my ear yet. So I thought it would be safe to put some peroxide in my ear to help with the fluid.  I. WAS. WRONG. So very wrong!! It was some of the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I was ok for the first maybe 60 seconds, and then I breathed o...

Try to ignore the large water stain on my shirt. Apparently I have issues getting my drink to my face. #TheStruggleIsReal Monday I started off the week with some patriotic red white and blue!  One of my students was twinning with me in the nail dept. So Of course we had to take a patriotic nails on the piano picture. Are you sensing a theme to this week yet?  Even the chalkboard was decked out!!  I have ONE picture from the 4'th of July. ONE. And It's bad quality thanks to the window. Sighs. My Parents came to town and helped me with some projects outside and got my fence fixed. After they came in and cleaned up my Dad finally got to open his Birthday and Father's Day gifts! I forgot to give them to him the last time he was here, so I made sure to have them out and sitting by the couch this time! After they left, I showered and then relaxed for the evening. I watched fireworks in my front yard and got eaten alive by bugs. And was awake way too...
